  1. Does he still work for CBS as a football analyst? The same CBS that now has a financial interest in promoting the B1G? Of course we all know the ethics of Rick Neuheisel at completely above reproach. Just remembered Dennis Dodd is also CBS, how accurate have his predictions been?
  2. Not a fan. Other than pandering I'm not sure of the purpose. Most sentient Americans are aware of cancer in all its ugly forms. Most have been touched by it in some form. Does adding pink to a football uniform once a year change any behavior? Does anyone turn on the TV and think "I've got to send a donation to the American Cancer Society"? If they can devise a promotion that actively encourages funding for open source cancer research count me in. Until then give me the traditional Duck green, gray, gold, yellow, black, silver, white.......
  3. I've read comments from a moderately well connected fan who says TT has difficulty grasping the playbook, both last year and this year. Did he operate a fairly simple system in high school and just rely on athletic ability? Sure wish I could remember the story how Chip Kelly got Dennis Dixon to see the light. This could be something similar, when the understanding comes it becomes magic.
  4. Congrats, you nailed it.
  5. Those were the first punt return yards of the year weren't they?
  6. It is the coordinators fault. Consecutive comments from CanesInsight D'Onofrio is easily the worst coordinator we've ever hired here. By a mile. Throw the fricken ball Gattis! Fire Gattis at the half Our biggest weakness, inside the 5 Gattis and his god damn run up the middle fetish.. We are such an awesome short yardage offense Is it illegal to pass inside the 10 or something?
  7. What happened to Oklahoma? Is Brent Venables that bad? Is Lincoln Riley that good? And the day is always a little better when Brian Kelly suffers a loss, downright sunny when it is a blowout.
  8. Listed are records as of today. I see 4-1 Mississippi State at 5-0 Alabama and 5-0 Ole Miss at 4-1 LSU as attractive candidates for Gameday. Also 4-1 Kansas State at 4-0 TCU and 3-2 Texas at 4-0 Oklahoma State are possibilities.
  9. On Friday, the 6-foot-3, 265-pound senior three-star prospect from Palm Desert High School publicly committed to play football for the Ducks, starting in 2023. Boulton quietly committed to Ducks coaches in July, when he visited for Oregon's big Saturday Night Live event, but he waited to make it public until now. Good article Palm Desert's Bryce Boulton commits to play football at University of Oregon WWW.DESERTSUN.COM The 6-foot-3, 265-pound three-star prospect will accept a scholarship offer from Oregon, and join the football program in 2023.
  10. Oops, someone should coordinate with the ticket office on policy. Sure looks like players dancing to Shout in yesterdays tweet.
  11. Channeling my inner George Carlin how can they be called uniforms if they are never the same?
  12. Mike Leach can be entertaining. Mike Leach is a decent at designing X's and O's, getting wins and entertaining the fans. As mentioned above he is also a bully fired by Texas Tech for alleged player abuse. He was accused of player abuse while at WSU. Some years ago I saw a WSU post game interview. Leach was unhappy with how his OL played so as punishment he made the entire line sit for questioning that was both awkward and painful for both the reporters present and the players. Willful and premeditated public shaming of 18-22 year old kids that didn't live up to your expectations is not OK in my book.
  13. Any list that has the Tanner McKee I saw last weekend as the ninth overall NFL draft pick is suspect IMO.
  14. I believe that is the case but I've never seen an egg with the cummerbund effect. Can't they make the jersey long enough to tuck into the pants?
  15. I'm not fond of the uni but I notice a lot of visiting recruits choose them for their photo shoot. Look no further than the Big Man to Ducks thread.
  16. The moment the traitors in baby blue announced they were B1G bound this question lost all relevance.
  17. Better question: why does the "nations #7 guard" have less than ten offers?
  18. One question is will anybody notice the two players mentioned in the article are sitting out? Both have appeared in four games, the sophomore receiver has two catches, both in the opener. The senior safety had three tackles to open the season, a single tackle in game two and no stats since. I'll guess an early decision to hit the portal happens regularly but isn't verbalized. We probably have a couple on OBD team.
  19. Conflicting information available online. My guess is the 95 limit was enacted in 1978 and took effect in 1982. That transition would allow schools to honor existing scholarships without needing to cut players. That transition is hinted at with the further reduction to 85. The NY Times reported the 85 limit in January 1991 "...cut in football will reduce the annual limit of scholarships per school to 92 from 95 in Division I-A during the 1992-93 academic year, to 88 during the 1993-94 year and to 85 during the 1994-95 year."
  20. The NCAA reduced football scholarships from 105 to 95 in 1982 which had a big impact on woefully underfunded Oregon football. Brooks was a quality coach and when he could get players who previously would have been stockpiled by the "haves" results improved dramatically.
  21. Canzano discusses this today. Canzano: Fire the football coach?! Cheers to one who stayed the course WWW.JOHNCANZANO.COM "Someone buy Chris Hill a beer" the text read.
  22. If the coaches want to shut it down because it is a distraction that is fine. However I would like to see a sample size greater than one. Lanning's commented after the BYU game that the first play of the 4th quarter didn't show attention to detail, therefore they needed to reassess Shout. Shouldn't he have more data?
  23. I hadn't thought of it before but of course NIL incentivizes showboating. The more attention a player draws to himself the more value generated.
