  1. Agreed. Imagine PK endows the athletic dept with 5% of his net worth and that endowment returns 5%. Any media rights shortage is basically pocket change.
  2. This appears to be a good move.
  3. Impressive runner but apparently a neophyte when it comes to coaching. The only experience I find is a volunteer assistant cross country coach for one year (2009) at North Carolina and another volunteer assistant stint at Portland State in 2013. I guess HC Jerry Schumacher knows (coached?) her from the Bowerman Track Club. Where are our track experts when we need them?
  4. I saw that, but then he averaged under 4 yds per carry each of the next two years. Injuries?
  5. If they need a big powerful short yardage back he is already on the team, Noah Sewell. I'm skeptical of players looking for their third team in three years.
  6. Doubt it. How the report is presented may provide a clue but after distribution it will need to be analyzed, discussed, and questions asked with an inherent delay in getting the answers. Then more discussion, questions, etc. Frustrating but probably a good thing. Decisions of that magnitude should be taken with care and consideration, open and transparent unlike what was announced the end of June by the band UCLA and the Backstabbers.
  7. Add another name to the "no on semi-pro" list. I'm like The Kamikazi Kid, a rabid fan of basketball as it once was. Now I seldom pay attention as I have no connection to the names on the Oregon jerseys. Why bother, they will all be different next year. Thanks in large part to "Trader Bob" Whitsitt I lost all interest in the Trailblazers and haven't watched a minute of an NBA game in a couple decades. College football was all I had left and that is on life support. Sad.
  8. To me what stood out from the B1G article---For USC, they are the preeminent football brand out west.
  9. Similar size and speed to Dont'e Thornton (4.63) is a great place to start.
  10. In the NCAA basketball tournament it is readily acknowledged that traveling across several time zones is a disadvantage. Why would football be any different?
  11. Good point, one I hadn't thought of.
  12. Is the underlying data from the research firm SBRnet credible? They propose that UCLA is the most popular football team in eleven western states. GIGO. https://datawrapper.dwcdn.net/ojb31/2/
  13. Reclaim UCLA, add SDSU and wave goodbye to the spoiled children. Let them play every home game at night and travel 2,000 miles for every away game.
  14. Isn't the SEC negotiating a new media contract right now? I imagine Texas and Oklahoma have already been required to grant media rights to the conference.
  15. I wonder if Oregon is slow playing him right at the moment. I don't know how many D-linemen they plan to take this cycle but the Ducks are listed as favorites for a couple prospects with higher ratings and better offer sheets.
  16. Live updates from the Pac-12 media day event. Kliavkoff started off strong. Canzano is updating the opening statement every few minutes. Keep checking.
  17. It certainly helps recruiting to have a booster (and relative) reportedly willing to spend $10 million on NIL.
  18. Didn't Nebraska enter at a reduced share? I don't think they have ever been competitive in the B1G.
  19. The more quotes I see from Kevin Warren the less I think of him. But I come out of the NFL for 21 years. In the NFL, either you succeed or you fail, and that's not only on the field. I’m talking about in business, operationally. How many stories have you read about NFL franchises going out of business, their owners take a financial beating?
  20. Although it hasn't yet been updated the ChileDuck Depth Chart linked in the Repository section of this website is also a valuable resource. https://web.nmsu.edu/~ogden/oregon/depthchart.html
  21. Doesn't Oregon already have a small, quick receiver in Seven McGee? Also Justius Lowe is reported to be quite fast and very elusive on the field. I agree it's always fun to take a player from the purple poodles but scholarships are limited and Oregon has more than ten receivers on scholarship (two seniors) and a couple highly rated recruits committed.
  22. I believe he was a walk on; high school teammate of Jonathan Flowe.
