  1. I remember rumors that Prentice Gill took an Oregon playbook with him when he hired on at ASU. That was not a clean operation.
  2. Kliavkoff spells out the reasoning near the bottom of page two of a letter the Pac-12 office sent to the California Board of Regents. Read the Pac-12 Letter to the University of California Regents - The New York Times WWW.NYTIMES.COM Letter from the commissioner of the Pac-12 Conference to the University of California Board of Regents, objecting to a move by U.C.L.A. to go to the Big Ten Conference.
  3. Medical retirement at 'Bama. Grad transfer with five career tackles in a total of four games played.
  4. Why the love for Bryan Harsin? With the exception of Chris Petersen the recent track record of former Boise State coaches is dismal. Dan Hawkins was fired by Colorado, Dirk Koetter was fired by ASU, Bryan Harsin is about to be fired by Auburn. I know ASU is a dumpster fire but I don't see a potential Harsin hiring as anything but adding gasoline.
  5. Despicable as it was it doesn't appear to be a huge number of fans nor did it last a long time. On the other hand why would Utah governor Spencer Cox amplify the disgusting incident?
  6. Wonder if the Auburn boards have seen this. I remember some of them being fairly snarky regarding our Mr. Nix.
  7. An accounting giant weighs in. A winning strategy for the future of sports streaming WWW2.DELOITTE.COM As the future of sports streaming continues to grow, leagues and media companies need to create better experiences for fans.
  8. The fact Oregon is between presidents at the moment leaves me skeptical. A report of Oregon adding hockey and building a new arena leaves me laughing.
  9. This is a job where I could see Urban Meyer being interested. Arizona has a number of quality recruits and California and Texas are close. Not the strictest academics and we know the Athletic Dept doesn't have rigorous standards for NCAA rule compliance. I'm sure they have plenty of NIL money available. Lots of eye candy. I won't be the least bit surprised if UM is a serious candidate.
  10. Not worth $95 million over ten years?
  11. Urban Meyer is an analyst for Fox Sports. Oklahoma visits Lincoln for a game Saturday covered by (drum roll please) Fox Sports. I'll take a guess Mr. Meyer is working the game. If so wouldn't it be logical he would interview the AD?
  12. The coaching staff apparently agrees as he is listed as a wide receiver this year.
  13. In one of his early columns he implied he grew up an OSU fan, the first college game he attended was a Beaver win over UCLA. Who cares if he takes a dig or two at the Ducks? Are we that thin skinned? He is a columnist, paid to write an opinion, not a reporter who should be neutral.
  14. Petersen reportedly has a net worth north of $10 million and turns 60 next year. In other words he is financially secure. He doesn't want to return to coaching. If he did he would be on his second stint as HC at Washington as it would be total incomitance if the AD didn't inquire after firing Jimmy Lake. I'm fairly certain Oregon would have asked also. Sorry, don't see him at Nebraska.
  15. Hasn't Petersen made it abundantly clear he has no interest in a return to coaching? He is or was deeply involved in the Washington NIL program and I thought he also worked in some capacity for the athletic department. He is a West Coast guy with the last 30 years in the PNW. Obviously he is financially secure. Why would he even consider leaving Seattle for Lincoln, NE?
  16. Not counting the two or three interim coaches every head coach since Tom Osborne hung up his whistle in 1997 has been fired. That includes Bo Pelini and his 67-27 record. I guess they leave financially secure with their buyout but still.
  17. Must have been after the 1989 game that Rich Brooks vowed he would not take his team back to Provo. Apparently the home cooking left a bad taste in his mouth.
  18. I wonder if he will get an opportunity to reunite with Chip? They were close when both were in Eugene and he should have good insight if and when the Bruins transition to the B1G.
  19. In three weeks his buyout would decrease by $7.5 million, must be nice to have that kind of money to waste. That means the key date to watch for a potential coaching change is October 1. Thanks to a restructured contract that Frost and Nebraska negotiated last year, Frost’s buyout goes from $15 million to $7.5 million, which is enough of a drop for Nebraska to potentially pull the plug on the head coach. Scott Frost's Buyout Situation, Explained WWW.MSN.COM The Nebraska coach's buyout number decreases significantly in the middle of the season.
  20. How did that happen? Stats are all Wisconsin. Washington State vs. Wisconsin - Team Statistics - September 10, 2022 - ESPN WWW.ESPN.COM Get team statistics for the Washington State Cougars vs. Wisconsin Badgers football game.
  21. If he had gone through his progression to his left there was an apple pie cooling on a window sill, wide open. Bigfoot could have strolled to the local Baskin and Robbins for ice cream rather than running with a baker in hot pursuit.
  22. Isn't this a lucky coincidence. St. John Bosco, with 5* Matayo Uiagalelei, is visiting Eugene. Central Catholic vs. St. John Bosco WWW.CENTRALCATHOLICHIGH.ORG Mark your calendars for September 9 as the Rams Football team takes on St. John Bosco at Autzen Stadium!
  23. Last year Georgia defeated their eight regular season SEC opponents by roughly a 40-8 average score. Oregon may not yet be elite SEC quality but who is? Oregon would get plenty of wins playing normal B1G or SEC members.
