Interesting Pac-12 Developments From Canzano
Financially Stanford doesn't need to beg, UCLA does. Current numbers are difficult to find but 20 years ago Stanford's endowment sat at $7+ billion with $300 million earmarked for athletics. The total endowment is now over $41 billion with great returns. Assume somewhere around $2 billion is specified for athletics. UCLA has a $100 million athletic department deficit. Beggars can't be choosers.

Hayward and Added Seating for World Championships?
I imagine the global increase in the price of fuel, both gasoline and airline, is a major factor.

Terrible News...Spencer Webb Dies in Accident 🙁
- Sources Saying Pac-12 Schools Will Stick Together
Oregon is really not lacking resources, they suffer in part because the perception of the league is weak. They don't perform well OOC. How does unequal revenue distribution help the lower half of the conference become competitive?- Sources Saying Pac-12 Schools Will Stick Together
It wasn't that many years ago that Oregon State was nicknamed the giant killers and Oregon desperately needed equal revenue sharing to maintain an athletic department. Is it truly a league if one or two schools demand unequal shares?- USC Fans Do NOT Want Oregon in the B1G...Whew!
Entry into the B1G may be the equivalent of the fabled Trojan Horse. At first celebrated as a great victory before leading to total destruction and the ash heap of history.- The SEC is Done With Expansion...For Now
Gotta give credit to Georgia for their OOC scheduling. Clemson and Ohio State in the same year? Georgia football schedule: UGA’s future nonconference games are insane UGAWIRE.USATODAY.COM Looking at Georgia’s future nonconference schedules through 2034.- A July 30th Recruiting Weekend?
The dead period runs from June 27 to July 24. During that time coaches are not allowed to have any in person contact with recruits or their parents. It's difficult to arrange or confirm visits without speaking to the athlete so any visitor list would be unreliable.- Cristobal’s Ducks Underperformed?
Blasphemy about Harvey Mudd? US News ranks them at #28 among liberal arts colleges so maybe mom has a right to be proud.😀 In addition they also have a sense of humor..."Harvey Mudd is one of the country’s top math, science and engineering undergraduate colleges. The school offers a variety of student organizations on campus, from the break-dancing club to the Harvey Wallbangers Climbing Club, among others."- New Oregon Live Journalist With What it is to be a Fan in Oregon Right Now

It appears the tweet is gone and nothing on Youngs twitter, listed below????? https://twitter.com/richardyoung239- Holy Crap! Pac-12 Conference Presidents Turned Down A BILLION DOLLARS?
Presumably a similar deal for the B1G's projected billion dollar deal would divert $150,000,000 to private equity, reducing each of the current 14 members share by $10 million each and every year?- Ducks Make Another Top 10, I Think Thats All of Them.
Somewhat off topic but tOSU has EIGHT home games? They open with five straight in the 'Shoe? Their toughest road trips are to Michigan State and Penn State plus Maryland and Northwestern. No wonder they are expected to be in the playoffs.- Holy Crap! Pac-12 Conference Presidents Turned Down A BILLION DOLLARS?
How many of the presidents have an interest in athletics? They oversee a billion dollar plus organization. The athletic director is the one who focuses on the conference affiliation and inner workings but I doubt many of them have particular expertise in media rights value. Reporting at the time certainly painted a different picture than what JC claims. Further we have no idea what the proposed partner was asking for. A lot of private equity firms border on sketchy. The Pac-12 is no longer interested in selling a media rights stake to private equity firms AWFULANNOUNCING.COM The Pac-12's plan to sell a stake to a private equity firm always seemed unlikely, and now it's officially dead; a strategic partnership remains possible.- SEC & Oklahoma State?
At $68 million each the 14 members of the SEC divide a pool of $952 million. A new member would need to add a minimum of $68 million in revenue to prevent a reduced distribution. Canzano recently posted the Nielsen date for each conference and Oklahoma was listed at 755,340. Ignoring the fact the SEC will already capture a lot of those sets with OU would the addition of Oklahoma State warrant ESPN paying an additional $68,000,000? Will Alabama and Georgia take less money to be able to play in Boone Pickens Stadium? I doubt it.- 5-Star Running Back Richard Young Feeding Breadcrumbs to Ducks?
A couple more- 5-Star QB Dante Moore to Oregon!
To me this speaks volumes about the maturity, ethics and character of the player. Further I think it reflects well on the coaching staff he chose to play for.- Dante Moore Decision on Friday Between 9-10:00 AM ESPN

Several decent options but I also lean toward #5. A game against every other division increases visibility (eyeballs) for everyone.- Washington's Recruiting? Omigosh!
Didn't the same hold true for Avalos?- Are Virginia, North Carolina, Florida State, and Clemson in Talks to Join SEC?
Isn't the only way this works is ESPN agrees to increase their payout to the SEC so they can void the ACC contract? Wouldn't that spawn an unending stream of lawsuits from the schools left behind? A brief overview from last year of the Grant Of Rights and the exit fee in the ACC. Clemson football: Why ACC Grant of Rights might not mean as much as we think RUBBINGTHEROCK.COM Over the course of the last week, rumors have been swirling surrounding the Clemson football program and several others due to the expansion moves being ma...- Potential ACC/P12 TV Partnership
From Canzano "The Big Ten deal with Fox that was valued at $1 billion a year is now worth $1.143 billion with the addition of USC and UCLA." which keeps the payout at roughly the $71 million.- Will Ducks See Transfer Eli’jah Winston in Green-Yellow and Get the Last Laugh at USC?
I see the response to the Winston speculation as very similar to Cota. Quotes from a thread when Cota entered the portal I was really disappointed when he chose UCLA over Oregon. Now, looking strictly at production he had 18 receptions for 286 yards last season as a third year player. With limited scholarships I hope they recruit someone a bit more dynamic. Hard Pass. He had his chance, and we do not have the scholarships to spare. Agreed. I’ve watched him for 4 years at UCLA and he is just an average pac12 receiver. Respect his family and wish him the best, but we can find a better receiver in the portal than Chase. After he committed to Oregon Meh. Agreed. Perhaps a political move for future Oregon HS recruits Cota is ok... the guy CAN play. He is a local kid so welcome. While I'm glad he's finishing his career at Oregon, I'm not head over heels excited. He's proven to have a limited ceiling and has similar stats as Brendan Schooner... he'll be a veteran presence to maybe teach the younger some things but I don't expect him to start or put up any record breaking numbers. I think it's a great pickup to build depth. - Sources Saying Pac-12 Schools Will Stick Together
