Coach Meh'

Featured Replies

Does Meh' get fired mid season. After this complete embarrassment of a game? How do you not fire him?

I have no idea what Oregon football is other than next level bad.

Regardless of the argument of the difficulty firing your OC mid season. I would tarmac that guy.

I will take "what is bad football for $50 million Alex "

No.

I don’t think Coach Lanning will but what do you have to lose at this point? Can it be any worse?

Send the OL coach packing with him.

No basis if the receivers and star QB out... just gotta eat that this season was a waste all around

OC has to go now or we lose players and recruits. If he doesnt, I question Dan's coaching.

He'll change it. Just not midseason

No way we see Dante Moore again this season.

Coach Dillingham found a way to win at ASU. Same with Chip Kelly.

Coach Meh’ is an anchor around this offense’s neck.

NC State just fired the head coach. If Lanning doesn't have the fortitude to do the obvious without hesitation...

Nobody's season is truly comparable. The reality is our QB is done. That's #1. OL is trash and thats #2. Im not saying we dont need another OC because we do. Im saying you cant even see if its growth like Hamp because he has nothing to work with. Raiola misses a ton of reads and passes.

I don't mind Lanning's schtick but he's clearly an average coach and maybe subpar CEO given the money and facilities.

The utter lack of fight by our Ducks shows strong indications of talented dudes who are front runners and this kind never do well when punched in the mouth. So I'm fine with Lanning but I think any number of coaches would do as good or better with the same NIL and facilities.

It's Meh' responsibility to coach this offense. There is no improvement week to week. He has done nothing to make this offense better. He needs to have walking papers in hand now. Get him a flight out of O'Hare and call him an Uber

Bro.. im with you.

Just have to wait because Im sure any true candidate is winning somewhere and in the mix. You cant talk to them.

But yall see when Coach Meh lined everyone up on one side and put Moore in motion to run right into tackles? I wanted to brick my tv

I'm having a hard time thinking of a worse Oregon offense and that includes the one run by Burmeister when Herbert was injured.

No second half points?! You've got to be kidding me.

This has become a throw away season at this point, MAKE CHANGES NOW!!!

No.

Punt on 1st down from now on out!!!!

I'm sorry, he has to go now and Lanning has to reassure the players that he will find someone with a better idea then, meh, or he will lose a ton of players to the portal. Hey here's an idea Kelly is back in town next weekend maybe make him an offer that he can't refuse to come back after the season is over. Then tell the players so that the exodus isn'tas big as I think it will be.

Cristobal's offense was better than what we are watching now.

I'm not even going to the rest of the games, this offense is not worth a 1,000 mile round trip.

We just scored 10 points against the 92nd ranked defense. This offense is worse every week. Scoring zero against Michigan and Ohio State is probable.

Mehringer will not survive the season.

No improvement? That implies we are staying level. We are getting worse every week and it will not stop until Mehringer, Terry and Kai are gone.

Yeah, that play finally convinced me Meh needs to go.

Rumble is Dante plays next week. Source is usually correct. If I was Dante I would come down with covid.

Okay post game interview Lanning asked straight up replacing the OC is on the table, and Dan Responded that all options are on the table with us clearly not playing to our potential.

No.

Yes he should go. I've seen enough. Really doesn't help when the entire staff on offense makes the players' performance worse.

OL is a complete mess, Raiola needs to improve his footwork and follow through when he throws. WR blocking is terrible.

A Total waste of the effort on defense.

Us v. Them should be called "Nothing to see here... Move along".

Give Samples a try at OC for rest of the year.

It feels like the longer DL keeps Meh on board, the more program equity he is squandering away. Is that really an equation he can live with? When does loyalty to the program trump loyalty to a professional friendship? OBD season has reached a point where not acting decisively could be the worst possible step forward.

Absolutely will lose equity if he doesn't make a change now, even if interim.

This is an offense that I can attribute to Dick Read. Maybe worse.

Yes. Other than that he took the money, Id hope he not return. Too much career risk vs lost season, line that cant guard him and a coordinator who does not know how.

Thankfully we can just NIL good talent. Now can we identify talent that is hungry and coachable? Hmmm

OC change is now officially on the table. I would also argue for changes at QB coach and possibly OL coach ASAP.

Haven’t watched the game yet. Sounds like I better not.

Lanning has put himself in a really tough situation. If we thought our current OC lacks experience, we have even less behind him. I’m not sure we can just cut him loose based on our current staff.

Is there an offensive Yoda out there that can salvage this heap mid season? This is really, really bad and you can see that Lanning has deep regrets regarding his coaching staff and some players. He’s not even shocked, now.

Things won't change around significantly, but I don't see how things could get worse, we can't do anything, you might as well make a statement now instead of waiting around for the inevitable. He's been around the program for a while, it's not like he's going to get better, it's time for someone to face the music, it's ultimately going to have to be Mehringer since he's the biggest change this season.

It's not solely his fault, the QB coach is completely over his head, and Terry obviously can't develop his own talent, but it ultimately falls on Mehringer to put players in the best place to succeed and that's not happening in any way.

Who would have thought that hiring one of the worst OC's in recent memory would end up being one of the worst OC hires in recent memory?

Who could have guessed that hiring a tight end with no QB experience would lead to having no QB experience to teach the QBs?

Dan needs to take control of this five alarm dumpster fire ASAP. It doesn't matter how bad the offense looks with another no experience coach calling the shots because they are already at rock bottom now. This year's offense/ team is beyond salvation.

What's important is that he mans up and takes control before he loses the fanbase, the players and the donors. This is way bigger than having a let down year. This year was lost due to last years reckless coaching decisions. You could see it in the game one struggles with Boise St and it's only gotten worse since.

I fully expected to wake up this morning to the new that Meh' has run out of town. Doesn't look like it has happened.

I can usually sleep it off but woke up angrier than I went to bed. I have a feeling I am not alone in that.

I agree. In fact I really wonder if we will ever see him in an Oregon uniform again.

Im a bit disappointed in Mullins for allowing Dan to not go after a seasoned OC. With the talent that decided to return you would have thought we got to get the right guy? Maybe Phil didnt go along as he extended Lanning and spent a ton of money already on players.?

Certainly, you are not alone in that.

I enjoy recording an entire year's games so that at season's end I can go back and evaluate game strategies, play calling, player performance growth, tactical approaches toward different teams, etc. Last night I just erased all of this year's games as easily as the team, for 90% coaching reasons, erased my interest.

I, as many of us have for over a year, been harping about lack of portal help in support of the O-line and backers. The only conclusion one can draw from what DL and the coaches did was to hugely mistake the needs that we (including my baby great grandson) had at those positions. Top that off with incredibly terrible coaching up of players and development of game plans and we have one lovely mess of a team.

This is not a mediocre team. It is so much worse than that. This is like watching some football version dream of the Three Stooges. And yet, I am a dyed in the feathers Duck fan. So, I keep hoping someone will wake me up from this nightmare.

"The Three Stoges"

Lol, exactly what I saw as receivers were tripping over themselves while the defenders just stood and watched. What a nightmare.
