Yesterday at 05:26 AM1 day Administrator No. Buckeyes now have two losses, and a third loss to Oregon would keep them out of the Playoffs. As if we did not have enough incentive? Mr. OBD
Yesterday at 06:09 AM1 day Moderator No. Unfortunately, the Buckeyes' loss in LA means OBD will not be playing a top-5 team in Columbus.I was hoping for an Ohio State win to give the 3-loss Ducks a shot at a top-5 team in Columbus. But the SC win is now a better win for Oregon; 2-loss SC will be ranked in the AP Poll and by the PO Committee.Unfortunately, the OK State Cowboys lost a shootout on the road against Iowa State. Boise State is in a battle vs. Texas State. If Oregon can win the Day in Columbus, it will still be a B1G win and help the cause for the rest of this season and next season.AP Poll - I think Miami stays at No. 1. Miami is now 1-5 in its last six games against UNC. With the win, the Canes, when ranked No. 1, have a 29-game win streak against unranked teams.PO Committee No. 1 - I'll place my bet on 1-loss Georgia.Where will UCLA be ranked? And also Indiana with another close call?Every Saturday is an adventure. No team is safe.Someone, please clone today's Dylan, who was not the clown we watched against Illinois.Beat the Bucks!
Yesterday at 07:25 AM1 day No. Ohio State is favored by 10.5. Vegas is saying Ohio State 30 Oregon 17. This follows the trend of the past 3 years. Max protect among other devices to attack Ohio State downfield is an absolute minimum. And the only way I see OBD winning is by striking downfield like Lanning went after the Buckeyes in Eugene. I also recommend 5 guys on the line of scrimmage on defense. Force Ohio State to pass and come with simulated pressure and as lethal a blitz package DL can devise. Of course, pressure on whoever plays QB is an absolute must-OBD just don't play very good pass defense. My opinion of course. As far as I am concerned, DL can do whatever he wants. He runs the ship and I am not about to mutiny. I just hope he is aggressive and gives Ohio State more than they are used to seeing. Ohio State has been more physical than OBD the past 3 years. OBD will have to neutralize that by hook and crook. But Vegas is seeing what I have seen since February. Our trend against elite teams that is.

This season, you never know.
Yesterday at 08:00 AM1 day No. Ohio St has great receivers, powerful RBs and a stout O line. The Ducks have a lot of future NFL players on defense, so that matchup can hold up.Can the Ducks move the ball on them? Maybe.Ohio St no longer has a great pass rush or D line like they used to. I think Oregon has a chance. As for knocking teams out of the playoffs, so many top teams are either losing or almost losing, there really is no front runner(s).This is the new age of college football. Most division games will be tough to win. Get used to it. It applies to everybody.I think who makes the playoffs will be who looks good the last week or two, regardless of record. Their First!! ESPN puts their schedule difficulty at 60. By comparison, Oregon's is 13th. The Ducks have a MOUNTAIN to overcome to sniff the CFP....but as we all know, anything can happen in college football.
Yesterday at 03:57 PM1 day No. Yes I think a loss to Oregon would end their playoff hopes. It would probaly put them up against a possible 3 loss Texas, Ol Miss, and/or Alabama. Plus no Big 10 champ game.
Yesterday at 04:09 PM1 day No. Odds are stacked against us for a win.OSU has not lost two in a row in conference play since around 2013.Oregon has not won two in a row since entering conference play 2026.Meaningless stats but it's all I got. 😃I think they have a better chance than MC did in 2021. Yesterday at 04:19 PM1 day No. I think the Vegas line makes sense at -10.5 Ohio State.Coming off a bye week way far on the road as a late game in the rain with a new QB. It was like a bowl game where one team doesn't show up.Now OSU is angry will get back in their groove at home with their backs against the wall to stay in the playoffs. Also we had a new OC, and Patricia now has a week to game plan against him, the NW didn't.I'm pretty sure we will show up this game and play hard, and the OL finally looks up to the task, but some play calling regression by Jay and a poor outing by Raiola is still in the cards. Our biggest hope is for OSU to have another mediocre offensive performance, with our defense playing their best game of the year, learning from what USC did.

Offenses are changing to beat the Duck D and Oregon has not been keeping up. I don't know about Perich. One play he is OK, and the next he is way out of position. Losing Flowers has hurt. And here is something else I noticed. When the D line rushes and keeps some kind of contain on the QB, they don't get to him. When they rush to get him asap, he runs away from them and down the field. Ducks seem to do best when they throw in some kind of blitz package with a faster runner. Jackson and Mixon are like Perich. One play OK, the next is not so good. It is not just physical talent. It is also knowing your assignment.
15 hours ago15 hr No. If any 3 loss team could sneak into the playoff, it’s Ohio State. However, we’ll have the head to head win over Ohio State and USC. It’s unfathomable to imagine only two B1G teams would make the playoffs, but if OBD beat Ohio State and each of Iowa, USC, and Northwestern lose again (USC and NW very likely), the playoff committee may take a hard look at a 3-loss team. Oregon would arguably have the best resume and would be considered to be on a hot streak. I like our chances in Columbus. Finney vs Smith! This is Raiola’s team now and he is getting more and more comfortable each week. The young Buckeye QB doesn’t have the experience to exploit our defensive holes.
12 hours ago12 hr No. What bothered me about the defense against Northwestern was how often they converted on 3rd and long. That drove me nuts. Their QB is deceptively shifty and quick.

The young Buckeye QB doesn’t have the experience to exploit our defensive holes.Add in they take consideration of injuries and the Ducks have lost a possible #1 draft pick QB and several in our very talented receiver group. No we won't have that QB back, but some of the receivers will be (enough to continue to make that group very dangerous). If the new play caller is successful in playing to Raiola's strengths, staying away from his weaknesses, and the offense gets on a roll (a lot of ifs) the OBDs have a case for the committee if we win the rest of our games. Find a team that has fought through as much adversity and found their way in the midst of it. Wins over Boise St. (possibly their only loss), USC, Northwestern and OSU (if we can pull that off, I think we can but certainly not a sure thing) will be a great resume on the good wins side.Plus that #13 strength of schedule lines up quite well against the other teams that may come in with 3 losses. And in match ups, we have wins over 4 playoff contenders. Of course that is all predicated on winning out. That is not a given, but a hope at this point.

We have to finish drives and put pressure on them to score when they get in the red zone. If we can score touch downs while they're kicking field goals I like our chances, even if we don't get there as often.
2 hours ago2 hr No. If you like to play around with what-ifs, here is a website where you can pick winners and then calculate conference standings that will lead to the Big Ten Championship game.Pick winners from each week, then punch the Calculate Standings button.https://bball.notnothing.net/big10.php?sport=fb
1 hour ago1 hr No. To manage to pull off this win, it will require Jay Johnson and Raiola to both be perfect. What are the odds of that, gamblers? Quite impressive for them to be right last Saturday (and I was wrong), but I hope they are wrong this week. I want to pick OBD over tOSU, but don't want to jinx them. Tough decision come prediction time. 😁 Go Ducks!
