P.S. This game is important on a personal basis for me. This is my 40th year as a season ticket holder, but for the past six years....I've bought them and either given them away or sold them due to my health issues with my back and hip. In the past year--I've spent thousands of dollars out-of-pocket for non-traditional treatments that have cut my pain walking by about 90%...thus for the first time in six years--I will be in Autzen! I've lost a ton of weight, with more to finish with yet, and the combination of all of it has brought me to my best health in a long time. I still have a ways to go to hit all my goals, but I am on my way with it, and been on this path for 15 months and believe they can all be achieved. Today marks a big indicator in my progress, and I am thrilled to be sitting on the 34 yard line once again. My first year with season tickets in 1986 had Chris Miller at quarterback!

Yep, long story, but with the sale of FishDuck.com back in May....there are changes that I am behind with, in getting done. That is one of them, and thanks for the reminder. I was curious about how much playing time Oregon’s outgoing transfers would earn after leaving the team last season. It seems that most transfers that have left Oregon in the past have ended up buried on another depth. However, this last group has produced quite a few starters and backups. Some players of note are below. Lopa, Perry and Johnson are starting at Cal. Jaden Limar and Jay Harris are backups at Washington and KSU. Terrence Green is starting for Bama and Tionne Gray is a backup for Notre Dame. Sionne Laulea and Jahlil Florence will be staples in the Mizzou defensive backfield. Moga earned the starting job at New Mexico after the original starter was injured. The anticipation to kickoff is over the top. Let's play some football...... Getting the defense off the field on 3rd and long is my top concern. Last season opposing teams were getting the ball out quick. Exploiting Duck linebackers in space and soft coverage. Our opponents just let the play unfold. Too often they converted 3rd and 8, 3rd and 11, even 3rd down and twenty. Would like to see that tightened up. How many times did the QB connect on a short pass, to a wide open player just a milla secont before being sacked by a Duck fire eater? Tighten the coverage and sack totals will rise. Nothing like a violent sack on 3rd and long....... It is going to be a great season for the Ducks and their fans...... Go Ducks!

Lane thrives on drama. He couldn’t stand the comfortable situation he was in at Ole Miss. It’s as if he needs to live his life being constantly on the verge of getting fired, divorced and sued.

Will Matayo Uiagalelei dominate this season? He had six sacks last year, but 10.5 in 2024. Which Freshman shows his greatness early and gets Duck fans excited for the future? Will Drew Mehringer’s play calling be an upgrade from Stein or is he still the guy he was a Rutgers (15 PPG). Is Huyrich trustworthy or do we have another Alejamden Maldolewis on our hands?

Oregon 28-20 1 TO 2 Sacks 267 Passing Yards New coordinators, new O-Line, and a new kicker will be the reason for only 28 points. Boise is always a tough opponent for the Ducks, so that factors into my prediction.

One other thing-I prefer 11 P4 teams. Ten for the lower tier P4 schools. It is time to vet the P4 beginning to end. Not after they get their feet wet with "preseason" games (unless they simply don't count those P4/G6 games in the record books-let's just call them pre-season games like we already know they are). Padding records in the Playoff era leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
