I am totally without reservation pro Dan Lanning! We should thank him for the success he has brought us. He is a young coach and still learning. If he needs better coordinators, I trust him to realize it and get them. Id rather have him to guide us through these new times than all or at least most anyone out there. Go Ducks! I hope still this is the year, but if not there will be more.

Thank you, Charles. I hope what you foresee will happen. Many of the top CFB players across the nation who are being handsomely paid have shown up early on and balled out. I haven't witnessed the money having an adverse influence on the majority of teams with top-rated rosters and well-compensated players. After the Peach Bowl debacle and with experienced players returning to win a Natty, the effort to date by many Oregon players has been pathetic. For two weeks in a row, Oregon players have been outhustled, outplayed, and embarrassed by G6 athletes. The team has finished at least 40 points short of covering the spreads. If future NFL money inspires them to up their game, so be it. If I were watching game film, I'd be furious with my and my team's effort, or lack thereof. Oregon was lit up by the media after the Boise State game and was a laughing stock this week. I'm sick and tired of watching OK State coach Eric Morris on TV noting that the Cowboys win was better than the final score showed. But he isn't wrong. If the players don't take responsibility and play to win, going from ranked 2nd to unranked could undo the recruiting class and make Oregon a less-than-desirable landing site for guys in the portal. I'm going to hope the first two weeks were an anomaly. But some key players have been injured; is there talent on the roster to replace a guy like Jeremiah Johnson? Get right on Friday night and let it pave the way to victory in LA.

Charles - For the NFL prospects, I think you make very good point that I hadn't thought of yet. And for the guys who are non-starters, hopefully, they see the poor performance last week as an opportunity for them to work even harder for a shot at maybe moving up in the depth chart. I also just can't imagine what it's like for these kids who are playing positions such as safety, edge, wide receiver, DT, & corner, who are suddenly getting paid $1M to $4M on an annual basis, to manage that instant wealth. To from $0 to $2M+ overnight (and that's just for 1 year) without any stipulations or protections on that money, can be a challenge regardless of age, but only more so when your brain is 18 or 19 years old. I'm guessing many of them had to open a bank account for the first time so the check could be deposited. And I'm guessing that most of them are having a lot of fun with that money as well, which is a huge distraction. Not to mention all of the family members and long lost cousins, aunts and uncles, suddenly hitting them up for money. It is a hell of a lot of responsibility, and distraction, for anybody, let alone a teenager.

Let's see a more solidified O Line (there are some hurt guys but overall the players need to be mostly locked at their positions). I want to see the D Line getting home more often and causing havoc at the line of scrimmage. We need to clean up the mental mistakes. I'd rather have a penalty for playing aggressively than a stupid mistake like a late hit or a flagrant foul. This will be an opportunity for Dante to use everything that has been said about him and turn it into an advantage. Can he properly disguise his pre-snap looks? Can he settle down in the pocket and throw receivers open rather than hoping someone is just wide open? Can he operate as a genuine leader and keep the team focused for 4 quarters? I am hoping for a complete game of football from the Ducks tomorrow.

Being paid means you better take the heat from fans and media. The IV excuse was pathetic. I am pretty down on the Ducks right now. Huge money ruined the NFL and I stopped watching in Early 2k. I really hope college football turns it around. I know they don't need my viewership but I won't support the trash if that's what college football becomes. Go Ducks!

That's why it's extra frustrating when they lose games that they should have won handily and make stupid mistakes even high school players don't make. Let's hope they get their acts together. We have all been repulsed by the excessive amounts of NIL being paid to college players. Frankly--when you are paid that much....it has to take a bit of the edge or bite you may have going into the game. Well now things at Oregon have changed.... So Dante Moore missed open receivers downfield on plays that could have won the game, and he showed the opponent defenses what the plays were in advance between pass-or-run with his feet placement? The stuff being written about him across the US is very damaging... His NFL Draft status just went WAY DOWN. So now, the NIL doesn't matter, because if he wants to become a high first-round NFL Draft pick....he has to improve his game enormously over the season. He not only has to show his superior talent as before, but demonstrate with each game that he is past the prior issues. Oh! What benefits him going forward, (fixing his issues and winning games) benefits the team, and the fans. Cool! Now...duplicate that across the team, as a ton of players planning to go to the NFL after this season just saw their draft stock take a hit as well. So all that I wrote about Dante applies to the all of them as well. Pull yourself out of this mess to benefit you, which helps the team, and makes us fans happy. All our objectives are now in alignment! This will get the very emotions needed to scratch-kick-claw-and-fight to rescue their career, and this team. The edge that NIL took off, will now return to fulfill the player objectives, and perhaps they will play as they did during the true "scholarship" days? Is this PLAUSIBLE, or am I just fantasizing a Happy Dream?
