I'm Glad We Lost!
This is why betting is called gambling. I thought that Lanning would want to score a lot. I have no idea how the USC game is going to go. I see win / loss as 50-50. It is a toss up. Who ever wins that game has a good chance to make the playoffs.

I'm Glad We Lost!
A loss two games into the season in some bad heat and humidity can be overlooked if the rest of the season goes well. A loss to someone you have been playing against for the last hundred years or so 4 games in and it being the second loss leading to a 2-2 record shows that you are probably not worthy of the playoffs. USC is not a top 5 team. However, losing to USC and then running the table would probably get the Ducks into the playoffs. But if they can't beat USC, then winning out is highly unlikely. This USC game will put the Ducks on a course for the season, either upward or downward.

Ball was fun to watch too. The guy just hit people! He seemed to seek contact to run through it.

They are very good players and a lot of programs wanted them. The team is lucky they stuck around and did not go into the portal. They need to keep playing, not just in cupcake games.

I'm not sure how much was learned in this non-contest". However, there were encouraging signs. Lastly, I think we should have taken a knee and ended the game 77 - 0

Brandon Smith seems to be the real deal.

I'm Glad We Lost!
I would be shocked if ANY 3 loss team made the playoffs. That’s why the USC game is a must win. (I’m anticipating a loss at Ohio State.)

We need R&R. Raiola and Riggs are for real.

DR looked better than he ever did in Cornhusker land. The future at QB now looks promising. It would've been nice if the tv announcers would've mentioned that Josh Bidwell was a cancer survivor... And the performances of some of the frosh were spectacular!

The back ups on the d-line seemed noticeably more aggressive. They looked fast and motivated.

Never as bad as it looks, never as good as it looks couldn't be more true than for these last two games. No brain baking, energy sapping heat to hold them back, reenergized mentally and emotionally by the online defamation, and Dan losing a few shoes up people behinds... And then there are the players; they responded well too...haha.

Lanning's comments post game. Sounds like perspective in regard to the running game: "I don't know if it's a fair measuring stick, again, based on what we were running against and what it looked like. . . "But I did like some of the creativity I was able to see from a scheme standpoint and then the execution." Good game for Freshmen too. Four get first TDS and two with Ints. True freshmen tracker: Four score first career touchdowns and two others intercept their first passes

Frankly, if Donte has a bad half against USC.....I would insert Dylan without hesitation. Talent and potential is one thing, winning the big ones with great execution is another. We have the luxury of a Dylan existing and being paid.......use him. He is used to being under pressure at Nebraska.

Marsh Duck - Quick Quack: Oregon vs PSU
Big take away was that the entire team came ready to play with intensity. They played hat on hat, physical football. About damn time! The freshmen did not disappoint. They let the veterans know they are ready to step up and earn playing time. To me, i noticed a little better push from the Oline. The running backs were 2 or 3 yards positive gain before being touched. Then they fought for more yatds. The line needs to keep improving eaxh week. When the holes were there the running backs had big gains. However, its easier to push PSU front 7 around than it will be against future NFL players in LA. But the communication was better. The,Oline was blocking downfield much better and look like they are working together better. Getting your Butt chewed out and hard practices can help that happen. The run game keeps defenses honest and off balance. This opens up the passing game. The wide outs and running backs blocked much better on the outside quick throws. This opened up big gains on the edges. Keeping PSU defense off balance allowed all 4 Duck QB's time to find and hit wide open receivers. The team needed this tune up, get right game. I am trying to keep this in perspective because all this happened against Portland State. The Ducks have talent but they will need to bring their A plus game to LA to beat the Trojans. The Ducks can beat the Trojans. It is a season defining game. But this Trojan defense, is a Gary Patterson defense. A win will not be easy but the Ducks can do it. Last nights performance gives me hope. Go Ducks.....

Very nice "scout team" scrimmage tonight. Depth of OBD really was on display. Ordinarily I am not crazy about these FCS noncon games but this one came at the right time to help get the Duckies outa their heads and back to playing with purpose and efficiency. Now is the time to focus on the upcoming USC trip. We will learn a lot more about the character and leadership of this team with our trip to LA next week. Hope to continue on an upward trajectory. GO DUCKS! QUACK! 🦆

Let's hope the boys kept some fire for USC. That game could put Oregon right back into the top 10 depending on the quality of the win. An extra day of rest sure does not hurt.
