  2. I'm not sure how much was learned in this non-contest". However, there were encouraging signs. Lastly, I think we should have taken a knee and ended the game 77 - 0
  3. Brandon Smith seems to be the real deal.
  4. I would be shocked if ANY 3 loss team made the playoffs. That’s why the USC game is a must win. (I’m anticipating a loss at Ohio State.)

  6. We need R&R. Raiola and Riggs are for real.
  7. DR looked better than he ever did in Cornhusker land. The future at QB now looks promising. It would've been nice if the tv announcers would've mentioned that Josh Bidwell was a cancer survivor... And the performances of some of the frosh were spectacular!
  8. The back ups on the d-line seemed noticeably more aggressive. They looked fast and motivated.

  12. Let’s start new threads please…
  13. Never as bad as it looks, never as good as it looks couldn't be more true than for these last two games. No brain baking, energy sapping heat to hold them back, reenergized mentally and emotionally by the online defamation, and Dan losing a few shoes up people behinds... And then there are the players; they responded well too...haha.
  14. Hey Dylan, who wouldn't have fun with those stats? 11 for 11 with 3 TDS. Oregon football: Dylan Raiola debuts with Ducks, tosses 3 TDs in win
  15. Lanning's comments post game. Sounds like perspective in regard to the running game: "I don't know if it's a fair measuring stick, again, based on what we were running against and what it looked like. . . "But I did like some of the creativity I was able to see from a scheme standpoint and then the execution." Everything Dan Lanning said after Oregon’s win over Portland State Start the time stamp at 2:09 for coach Dan Lanning post game commenrts
  16. McCellan's injury was pre-game. Jeremiah McClellan suffered injury in warmups, status going forward unclear
  17. Good game for Freshmen too. Four get first TDS and two with Ints. True freshmen tracker: Four score first career touchdowns and two others intercept their first passes
  18. Frankly, if Donte has a bad half against USC.....I would insert Dylan without hesitation. Talent and potential is one thing, winning the big ones with great execution is another. We have the luxury of a Dylan existing and being paid.......use him. He is used to being under pressure at Nebraska.
  19. Big take away was that the entire team came ready to play with intensity. They played hat on hat, physical football. About damn time! The freshmen did not disappoint. They let the veterans know they are ready to step up and earn playing time. To me, i noticed a little better push from the Oline. The running backs were 2 or 3 yards positive gain before being touched. Then they fought for more yatds. The line needs to keep improving eaxh week. When the holes were there the running backs had big gains. However, its easier to push PSU front 7 around than it will be against future NFL players in LA. But the communication was better. The,Oline was blocking downfield much better and look like they are working together better. Getting your Butt chewed out and hard practices can help that happen. The run game keeps defenses honest and off balance. This opens up the passing game. The wide outs and running backs blocked much better on the outside quick throws. This opened up big gains on the edges. Keeping PSU defense off balance allowed all 4 Duck QB's time to find and hit wide open receivers. The team needed this tune up, get right game. I am trying to keep this in perspective because all this happened against Portland State. The Ducks have talent but they will need to bring their A plus game to LA to beat the Trojans. The Ducks can beat the Trojans. It is a season defining game. But this Trojan defense, is a Gary Patterson defense. A win will not be easy but the Ducks can do it. Last nights performance gives me hope. Go Ducks.....
  20. Very nice "scout team" scrimmage tonight. Depth of OBD really was on display. Ordinarily I am not crazy about these FCS noncon games but this one came at the right time to help get the Duckies outa their heads and back to playing with purpose and efficiency. Now is the time to focus on the upcoming USC trip. We will learn a lot more about the character and leadership of this team with our trip to LA next week. Hope to continue on an upward trajectory. GO DUCKS! QUACK! 🦆
  21. Let's hope the boys kept some fire for USC. That game could put Oregon right back into the top 10 depending on the quality of the win. An extra day of rest sure does not hurt.

  23. This game did nothing to move the needle. Except that Dylan Raiola is a football player. Dude was ballin'
  24. The announcers mentioned his uncle Derek Loville(one of my favorite past Ducks) playing NFL ball, but I didn't hear them mention the UO...
  25. The restaurant/bar out by me was serving a Duck Fart for $4 every time the Ducks scored. In my younger days we used to make and drink them after each score. The object is to pour each liquor very slowly over the back of a spoon to have distinct layers. Then shoot it in one gulp. Yesterday I couldn't have made them fast enough let alone been standing after the 3rd quarter.
  26. Here is what I like to compare: the depth chart this year vs various other seasons. Ducks have guys third string who are better than a lot of starters from years past. You can take the best coaches in college football and give them the roster of lets say the Akron team. What will they do with that? Answer: not much. You can fix a lot of problems with talent.
  27. I remember what World, Harkey and Pregnon looked like mauling people last year. This year's group does not pass the eye test. They need to rethink what types of O linemen they want to recruit. This position group has taken a step down from what Mario Cristobal was doing with it. Of course, I could be wrong. How they do vs USC will be telling. And maybe they just have a bunch of guys who need to play more to get better? Maybe the problem was play calling? Too many bodies to block. No mis-direction plays. But at some point, you would want to see some big holes open up. If the O line does struggle vs USC, then the QB and receivers will have to make up for it. There will need to be play calling going beyond two runs up the middle that gets stuffed and now its 3rd and 7 all game long. The good news is that all the other position groups on offense look really good. The better news is that even though the O line doesn't look that great at run blocking, they seem to do pretty good at pass blocking. The OC will have to call plays that will work with the O line that they have this season.
