CFP PLAYOFF DISCUSSION THREAD
What will also be interesting is IF we win, is that we should jump Ohio St. Both three loss teams and a recent head-to-head win. They lost to a SC team that we beat. But would the committee? We already have 'Bama 8 spots above a Tennessee team that pretty much crushed them. An Indiana team that lost to Ohio St. 8 spots above them. I think the explanation was that they placed teams in pods, then compared the teams within the pod and for some reason Ohio St. was not in the same pod as Indiana and Tennessee was not in 'Bama's pod. I've decided to listen to my 3-month-old grandchild for the explanation since his gibberish equals the committee's.

Good Analysis of the OC and His Offense for Oregon...
Couldn’t agree more. Great breakdown of how Johnson’s tweaks of the same plays from previous week finally got the offense going. Particularly liked Eric showing the simplifying of reads, and the narrowing of the read range from 80 degrees to 40 degrees in the passing game that allowed DR to get comfortable and confident.

CFP PLAYOFF DISCUSSION THREAD
From Ohio Duck No. 16 This would allow the Ducks to make the B1G championship game which and a win would be the sure way to make the playoffs. My biggest rooting this week is for the Ducks to beat Ohio State in Columbus. That is the biggest game of all the college games left to play this year for the Duck's chances. I'm not convinced OBD are out of the playoff picture without a B1G championship game win. Here's why. If the team that played the final 21/2 quarters vs Northwestern is the the Ducks team going forward there is a chance of winning out. Beat Ohio St. in Columbus (certainly a big challenge but doable, I think our back up QB is better than theirs) Beat Michigan at home (not as big a challenge, but take nothing for granted at this point but doable) Beat Michigan St. on the road - definitely doable Beat Washington at home - again definitely doable That's 9-3 with wins over Boise, USC, Nebraska, Northwestern and Ohio St. All in contention for a playoff birth though certainly not sure things. Losses to: Oklahoma St. who has a chance to win out themselves and be 9-3, Texas Tech will be tough, but its a home game and they have not lost at home this season (39 vs OBD is the least they have scored at home). UCLA still undefeated at this time by 2. and Illinois which could be the only really bad loss (looking at their remaining schedule they could end up 5-7, if they manage to go 2-2 the rest of the way they are a respectable 7-5) Given that our worst games were following an injury to our starting QB and it took time to adjust, that we made a needed adjustment in the coaching staff (jury's still out but the first game was promising), we will have won 5 straight games... that 9-3 record vs. one of the tougher schedules in college football and considering the circumstances, presents a good case for the Ducks to be in. I think if we win out and look pretty good doing it, we are in.

Uniform Reveal for the Ohio State Game...
I'm old so my opinion probably doesn't count for much of anything at all. I love the look of these uniforms, but I really do like seeing some of our actual colors from time to time when we're out there.

WEEK 10 - B1G Games and Big Games
Week 10, the Week we were all waiting for. The week when preseason-ranked No. 2, 8-0 Oregon would play No. 1, 8-0 Ohio State in the Shoe to determine the No. 1 team in the land. But that was yesterday, and yesterday's gone.☹️ However, No. 23 Oregon at No. 12 Ohio State is still a B1G game amongst the best games of the 2026 season. Week 10 sees No. 20 USC and No. 4 Indiana on a bye before SC plays Indiana in Bloomington in Week 11. However, Week 10 delivers B1G CFB Playoff elimination games and coast-to-coast P4 elimination games. Playoff Committee Rankings. FanDuel odds. Pacific time game kickoffs. Availability Report: First One for the Ohio State Game...
Today
- Jordon Davison is OUT for Ohio State, and Maybe the Year?
Then there is the kid out of Sweet Home that passed a few weeks back. Not sure all the details. Some guys at work that live in Sweet Home were saying it was a hemorrhage. With Donte mental health issues he has made public, I han see where he would be chuck full of fear (my speculation). Football is not a game for the fearful. I was saying multiple things in this post. I am grateful you picked up on the most concerning point. The other point is my more pessimistic side, just something I have noticed but hope is wrong.- Uniform Reveal for the Ohio State Game...
looks like green and yellow has been relegated to the role of highlights - feathers on the helmet and swoosh on the shoes. Sigh.- Availability Report: First One for the Ohio State Game...
OUT: QB Dante Moore RB Jordon Davison WR Messiah Hampton TE Andrew Olesh OL Dave Iuli OL Trent Ferguson DL Matthew Johnson S Aaron Flowers LB Brayden Platt PROBABLE: WR Jeremiah McClellan NOTES: -Olesh makes his first appearance of any kind on the availability report. -McClellan hasn’t played since the Oklahoma State game on September 12. He broke his foot in warmups ahead of the Portland State game on September 18 and was seen doing light movements/warming up on the field ahead the Northwestern game. He did not dress out in helmet, pads, etc. -RB Dierre Hill Jr. is not listed after not playing in the second half with an undisclosed injury against Northwestern. -Hampton will miss his third straight game following his arrest on Friday October 30 stemming from an October 18 incident. McClellan Could Be Big for First Downs!- Jordon Davison is OUT for Ohio State, and Maybe the Year?
You might be right. The doctors haven't cleared him so maybe it's worse than we thought. The brain is not something to mess with. Two weeks after Dante's injury a player from Southern Nazarene University (D2) named Tyler Ulrich was killed while making a helmet to helmet hit on an opposing player. He was unresponsive on the field and he eventually died from a subdural hematoma a couple of days later in the hospital.- OFF TOPICS: For Your Interest (12)

I’ve done that before, and people broke the deal and the venom carried over to other threads. Then when I call it out? I’m the bad guy for reminding them of what they agreed to. So, I am sorry, but no need to try that again. We are the only civilized forum out there, so let’s keep it that way!- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
After a tough loss I don't read anything, just ignore all the rehashing. I have a hard time getting too low because like many of you, we have followed the ducks when a 4 win season was great, the dream of a bowl game was just that, a dream. I also understand the expectations have changed, for good reason. After a loss I just think back about all the games we lost 45-0, and then I feel better. We are relevant every year, that is what I feel is important. I looked back but I didn't see this play talked about, if it was just ignore this part of the post. It was a "12 man on the field" type play. It was at the end of the UCLA game. UCLA had just ran for 8 yards on first down so it was 2nd & 2 at the 2 min warning. Oregon had to stop them from getting 2 yards or the game would be over cause they would have run out of time outs. Instead what Lanning did was have Uliagalelei reach over and touch the Offensive lineman for off sides and to give them a first down. Now they had 10 yards to go and they didn't t use a time out. They stopped them and got the ball back. If they hadn't done that they would never got the ball back. He gave his team a chance to win, just what a good coach is supposed to do.- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
My negativity is usually short lived. Successive games of poor play and coaching compounds and extends the half life though. Something I am finding more difficult to move past is the institution of CFB as a whole. I am pretty frustrated with the direction the college game is going. The further down the road we go, the more it seems to infect all involved in the game. Especially at the player level.- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?

I think we were all a negaDuck for a few days.☹️- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
For a lot of "fans", of a lot of different sports, the illusion is that if you don't go undefeated, blow out opponents by double digits, have multiple top "draft choices", and win the championship every year, then the season is a bust! I get it, I understand it, and in a world that tends to beardown daily on people's lives who are just looking for a consistent "win" or "winner" in their lives, get highly frustrated when the plans and prognostications fail them. For me, l at least, following my "favorite teams" is a pastime, a break, a non serious distraction from the grind that each day/week/month provides. But I always try to keep my fandom in perspective and try to appreciate what it provides as a release and a comaradity with fellow fans. Not to say I don't get frustrated or even angry at substandard results but in the perspective of our lives, fandom should NOT get one so worked up that they lose the fun in just appreciating high level play by highly skilled and talented human beings in an arena of competition. Even if you don't "win" in the end. To quote a character played by the late, great, Sir Patrick Stewart... "It is possible to commit NO mistakes and still Lose. That is NOT a Weakness. That is simply Life." Enjoy what you can and let the unenjoyable roll off your back like any good Duck will do. 🦆🏈🪨's- Jordon Davison is OUT for Ohio State, and Maybe the Year?
Remind the Ducks it can be done too.- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
Exactly, and if you want to see a really poorly coached team, then put a bunch of fools like me on the side line. Doesn't matter how talented the players are we would seldom win a game. But I talk a good game on Monday morning.- So...Where ARE the NegaDucks We've Seen So Much Of?
I have been on sabbatical from here since 9/6/26 because of this very phenomenon. Sometimes the hyper focus on one specific element can feel like ranting, but I get why it happens…but it made me lose interest. A recent example of “hyper” focus that cracked me up a bit while peeking in was the focus of a thread or two (prior to the first official rankings being released) on winning the conference championship as being the only path to the playoff. I am, and was, pretty sure our best path forward is to win out and NOT even play in the championship game. It is almost 💯 certain there will be multiple 9-3 teams in the field this year, and given how the season has unfolded, if we somehow managed to win out, we’d probably be in. Suddenly the first official rankings come out, and oh, look at that, we be ranked. Anyways, I’m sure I’ll end the sabbatical eventually, but everyone keep the OBD faith burning. Starting next year we probably will have an 8-4 make the expanded tournament, so we won’t have to collectively crash and burn if we start out 4-2 😆- Oregon - Ohio St. Pre-game Reports, Interviews, Etc.
