  2. This is the most probable game we lose all year, but nobody should be shocked if we win either. I'll be a fan this week. OSU will have trouble running on us, compared to USC, and we don't have to worry about a running QB, so we can press harder with the pass rush on a young QB that has to carry the offense. My prediction only works if we win the turnover battle, and don't give up the edges on defense all game long, which is honestly a very tough ask given precedence. 24-20 Oregon 2 TO 4 sacks 235 yards
  3. Agree. One of the cardinal rules of life that seems to have been discarded is to be very careful with the words you choose, because once something is said, you can never take it back. That’s why venting is generally best done in private.
  4. Oregon has always been a bit like the Black Knight in Monty Python’s Holy Grail. We never think we’re out of the fight.
  5. Right now this team needs to just concentrate on a winning record. Sometimes seasons, get derailed look how they were rolling along when Bill Musgrave broke his collarbone.
  6. At my house, we have been applying some of the OBD philosophy to certain members of our extended family/friends, simply because the positives outweigh the negatives. A few In-laws have been outlawed... Until they can learn to be a positive influence, rather than sitting on the B wagon without offering any reasonable solutions to the problem at hand, without inviting conflict. I'm not an innocent, nor am I a Flufferbutt, but the atmosphere created by this forum is a good thing that deserves to be celebrated.
  7. Oregon 31-17 1 T/O 2 S 303 YP Yup, hope springs eternal!

  9. Well, if we lose to tOSU, it will be the 4th loss. Then the season really is over, ain't it?
  10. Everytime I picked the other team this year, OBD won. So I will keep doing that... Ohio State 28-21 TOs=1 Sacks=1 Pass yds=200
  11. Ducks 24-19 2 Turnovers 3 Sacks As a program defining moment goes, this is DL's defining game. Its about time for a well coached, 4-quarter game that results in a big time win against a blue blood, elite team. Go Ducks....

  15. To be fair, pre-season there were high expectations with a few hedges. One hedge was the O-line, talented but not very experienced (that showed early, still does but not as much, we'll see about tomorrow's game). Two was baring injuries. Well, we have a very early draft pick QB out, several very talented receivers out, now our #1 running back coming into the season out, two offensive linemen out... all of those on the offensive side of the ball. It's no wonder the offense has under performed. Three was two inexperienced coordinators. Neither the offense or the defense looked like a top five team unit early. The defense has recovered and is looking much better, the OC was let go and at least last week the offense looked much better. So, all of the hedges have come to pass, some with profound effect on the team's performance.

  18. Mike, thank you for the enthusiasm! Why not us? Another way to make the field. Finish 7-2 in conference play, with the tie-breaker against 7-2 Ohio State. Oregon already has the tie-breaker against a two-loss USC. Defeat Ohio State, and Indiana and UCLA are Oregon's championship game rubs. UCLA is at Minnesota Saturday. Minnesota is 4-1 at home. The loss was to a healthy Mississippi State team. The Bruins return to LA to play Illinois in Week 11. In Week 12, when Oregon plays at Michigan State on a Friday night, UCLA is also in Michigan, playing in Ann Arbor on Saturday against a solid defense in what is likely to be cold weather. UCLA's passing game stats are putrid. If OBD defeats Ohio State, Michigan, and Michigan State, and UCLA loses two of its next three games, prepare yourself to root for the Trojans in the Week 13 matchup against UCLA in Pasadena. And take care of business against UW. The reward? A championship game matchup against Indiana in Indianapolis. Win, and it's on to the playoffs, perhaps with a 7th or 8th seed and a 1st-round home game? Lose? Does the B1G champ game loser get the committee's Alabama mulligan? Hmmmmm. OK, I like your idea better. The B1Ggest hurdle, besides a PO committee that isn't enamored with the Big Ten, would be blowing out a Michigan team that is 3rd in the nation in total defense and should be traveling to Autzen with a win over Michigan State and a 6-3 record. Your plan also requires the fine young cannibals to keep chomping in the SEC. Fine with me 😍. Miami without Toney winning in South Bend on Saturday would help the cause. Wake Forest losing two more games would also help. I think the B12 has SOS issues and will beat itself up. I hope. I see the G6 representative being the PO 12th seed. If Oregon finishes ranked 11th or higher by the PO committee after starting 23rd, it would be a historic accomplishment. Why not us? At least through part of Saturday afternoon on the Right Coast (the wrong coast for sports viewing), I'm keeping the playoffs faith. Thanks again for the encouragement. It's CFB in November; you never know. Blast Brutus!
  19. Not a downer, just sounds like you’re looking for sure things… look at where the SEC is at and what they have left to go with their 9 game conference schedule. Very good chance their 3rd place team will have 3 losses overall. People are very familiar with our story and program. Us winning out with a backup QB would be an incredible ending. 9-3 Oregon would almost certainly get in imo.
  20. Ducks win!!! 37-33 1 Buckeye TO 3 Ducks sacks 303 Duck passing yards
