Each QB has their strengths and challenges. I don't think we will see Dante on the field for at least three to four weeks. Concussion protocols are Not to be messed with and any doubt extends the time for a player to be cleared. D Lanning has always made it clear that every position is up for competition. Dante and Dylan both admitted to be pushed by each other earlier this year. In the NIL, 5 to play 5, Transfer portal era, teams can afford to be less "loyal?" to their upperclassmen players and actually focus on hot hands or best situational football. Whatever happens at the QB position over the course of the rest of this year, I for one feel very confident and comfortable with the one QB that the OR coaching staff believes gives OBD the Best opportunity to achieve the goals they set out for this team before the season began. If both of our QB's continue to successfully address their challenges; then either one can help OBD succeed like we want to see them succeed. That's a GREAT position to be in. 🦆🏈🪨's

I think we can handle their physicality. It takes them about 15 minutes to get into rhythm. A quick start against them is key. Also, five in the Line if scrimmage kills their offense. They don't have the dudes to block our top 8 guys ( so the combo doesn't really matter). This is a test of whether OBD defense can hold a solid team under 17 points. That's my standard for this game. That moves the needle for me- towards being capable of reaching and excelling in the playoffs. Very good take. UCLA is well coached.

David, your observations are spot on. I didn't really want to get into this discussion this early out of respect for Dante and the team, but inevitably, the topic was going to be brought up. I have my thoughts on how this plays out, but will refrain and wait for a larger sample size. I think it's prudent that Dylan starts against UCLA for Dante's continued healing. I'm sure Dante was really looking forward to playing his former team, but his former team has had a complete makeover.

It has been reported, but not confirmed by the Power 4, that representatives of the four conferences have met and are in agreement on a revenue-sharing cap of $44 million per annum and a separate player retention cap. $5 million would be available for non-revenue sports. NIL deals would be scrutinized to ensure they are not being used to exceed the cap. However, without antitrust protection from Congress and without a bargained-for agreement with the athletes, the caps will not pass legal review.
