  2. I tried to watch some of Gernorris and what I caught looked a bit bumpy; but, he always has made a lot of sense at RT. PFF still gave him the second highest overall grade on the OL after Laloulu (69.2) with a score of 63.6. He did not look out-of-place filling in for Harkey at Iowa last year. No one sees practice of course, but I imagine it's possible his recovery from last year's season ending foot injury has slowed his return? Big athletes and their feet can sometimes make for complicated injuries, what is Gernorris 6-5 and 320?
  3. Nebraska's pass rush could frustrate Oregon's offense https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/10/14/oregon-football-previewing-nebraskas-defense-in-week-7-matchup/92237784007/ Nebraska's offensive versatility could prove tough for Ducks' defense https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/10/14/oregon-football-nebraska-offensive-preview-week-7/92244297007/
  4. Akili Smith Jr. 'absolutely' involved in starting quarterback competition, Lanning saysOregon sophomore Akili Smith Jr. is also a name to know this week as the team seeks out its starting quarterback against Nebraska. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/akili-smith-jr-absolutely-involved-in-starting-quarterback-competition-lanning-says-291273982/
  5. I keep seeing the 2pt after after the first TD was silly. I still haven't seen the game (will tomorrow). Wasn't that score very early in the game. I think that's an assumption he would score more than one TD at that point. I see no reason to question it. That would mean every in the WHOLE world would have to know it was going to be so consequential late in the game. Nobody could know that.. Just like is Seattle, nobody knew OBD would lose by exactly 3 point. And if anyone did, please message me- I need billions of dollars - I live in Vegas and I can clean out the sports books and casinos

  7. On the Sunday morning radio sports show he shares, Geoff Schwartz was bemoaning the O-line play vs UCLA. It was his contention that Oregon did not run a single play on offense without at least one screwup in assignment by an O-lineman. He said it was apparent the coaching staff was getting frustrated and were trying in-game substitutions of players who screwed up, but as soon as something was "fixed" then there would be a screwup elsewhere with a different player. Then, a player pulled out would be rotated back in and screwup again.
  8. The problem noted in the excellent Sco Ducks video someone kindly provided yesterday is that Dylan was indecisive. This was convincingly shown by their expert commentator in his film study. There were completions available if only he had pulled the trigger. Brock was much better.
  9. Or the Mexico of Washington. ☹️
  10. So long as Charles opened the door about writing that needs proofreading, I will put on my grammar police hat for a few lines. A sound-alike word in the English language that is most misused is "there, their and they're". "They're" is a contraction for they are. "Their" is always possessive, meaning ownership. And "there" means a place and also goes everywhere else the first two do not apply. Use this sentence to help you recall: "They're over there with their football." If you misuse the language, readers have good reason to question the content of your communication.
  11. How about changing from 7 turnovers to 1 or less. Offensive play calling did not call for those TOs. I'll also back A'lique Terry. Three straight Joe Moore semifinalists. Good recruiter and proven results. One "off year" is not a Titanic moment in my opinion. I think a lot of discontent is the fact that we all thought this was "our year". Well, we were wrong. The DLine is more of a culprit than the we-knew-there-would-be-growing-pains OLine. Although the D was dang good in only giving up 17 points in a 7 TO game.
  12. Hear from Oregon star edge defender Matayo Uiagalelei as he breaks down the Ducks' defensive success, where the program can and will get better, and a look-ahead to Nebraska.
  13. Oregon head football coach Dan Lanning spoke with the media on Wednesday and got really in-depth on the Ducks' operation and preparation ahead of this weekend's match-up against Nebraska.
  14. Doubt the changes apply to staff yet. I do think this may be Mehringer's last chance at sole play-calling duties. Personally, I'd say A'lique Terry should be the first guy to go. I believe he was able to hide is inadequacies at developing players through the transfer portal the last couple of years. When he had experienced, good linemen, he looked good. Now he has a bunch of raw talent that needs to be coached up and it just doesn't look like it is happening. The personnel on the O-Line really can't change that much because Lanning has already tried that and has seen the results. My guess is schematically, he will put an emphasis on getting the ball out quick (gets Jamari Johnson involved), not throwing on the back foot, and digging into the run game more decisively. I still think we need to make the QB more of a run threat to keep defenses from selling out on our RBs. I cant imagine that they haven't practiced the read-option this season. With a still-in-development line, it would allow much more wiggle room to get yards up the field rather than hoping the line can constantly get push for runs up the middle.
  15. Yeah, the problems are so severe at the guard position that we are not only not generating PUSH for the running game, we are often getting pushed backwards spontaneously with the snap of the ball! It's amazing how quickly plays are blown up by middle of the road defensive lineman. Jeez, how bad can it get?
  16. Just what we need, another "deer in the headlights" quarterback.
  17. Agree. Compounding the issue is that Dave Iuli at RG isn't particular good at run blocking either 😬
  18. Rumor is Justin Herbert has asked the Chargers to release him so he can go play for a better team and come back to the Ducks.
  19. I hear you. The QB play has been rank; no Oregon QB is ranked in the B1G's top 8. CFB-HQ On SIBig Ten QB Rankings Week 7: Sayin Holds No. 1 Ahead of Hi...Ohio State’s Julian Sayin holds No. 1 in the Big Ten quarterback rankings entering Week 7, and Saturday’s noon kickoff at Indiana puts him on the same field as
  20. The problems at left guard are severe....IMHO.
  21. Putting Fox Crader back at LT makes the most sense. He did well in spot duty last season at that position and I honestly didn't understand why Coach Terry moved him over to RT where he's been less than adequate. The OL seemed to stabilize a bit late in the UCLA game with him back there, at least enough for Brock to have a chance to make some plays. Leaving Fox at LT at least (maybe) solves half the issue at the tackle spots. Gernorris isn't particularly great but if he can be at least average at RT then the only remaining issue are the guard spots where they can't seem to get any push for run blocking.
  22. I believe these facts are telling and deserve their own post. The new myth circulating in the CFB world is that the Oregon O-line (OL) hasn't been the same since Mario went MIA. Six members of the OL who played for Mario were in the NFL before Dan arrived in Eugene. Inconvenient Fact: In 2024 and 2025, the Oregon OL was a finalist for the Joe Moore Award for the best OL in the nation. Three members of the 2025 OL, World, Pregnon, and Harkey, are on NFL rosters. These statistics from Tru-Media, as reported by The Athletic's Stewart Mandel today, tell the story to date in 2026. 87th in run Yards Before Contact (YBC): 1.63. 2025: 14th, 2.5. YBC was under 1.0 against USC and UCLA. Oregon ranks 95th in run-play contact behind the LOS: 44.6%. (The 2025 number was not provided, and I do not have access to Tru-Media statistics.) RT Fox Crader has allowed the most pressures in the Big Ten: 18 LT Ziyarre Addison is 4th in the B1G: 13 pressures allowed. Every statistic on offense is inflated from the scrimmage against Portland State. Without the PSU stats, the overall play of the team on both sides of the ball has been mediocre or worse. The PFF grades for OL run-blocking against UCLA were not good, especially for the two tackles. Oregon's OL is not the only group underperforming in 2026. Among the underachievers are Michigan, Washington, and Texas. Should Dan have added more OL players from the Portal? Possibly, but at what cost? Returning DL starters and Dante Moore are well paid, and even Mighty Oregon does not have an unlimited football budget. As Urban Meyer and many other commentators have pointed out, in today's CFB world, OL is the toughest position to recruit out of high school and from the portal. Against UCLA, Dylan Raiola's play was worse than the play around him. Pro Football Focus asks why the Oregon coaching staff waited so long to take Raiola out of the game. A reasonable question. Coaching concerns are understood and warranted. However, Crader and Fox are inexperienced, and it shows. Could any coach be doing a better job with the material at hand? Regarding Mario compared to Dan in 2026, if Oregon's first six games had been against the dreck Miami has played to date, the Ducks would be undefeated. Miami's win over No. 21 Wake Forest? It took the Demon Deacons two OTs to defeat Purdue. An inexperienced OL and games against four AP-ranked teams? And with the starting QB knocked out in LA and the backup returning to his mean? If a team cannot run the ball, it will not win many games against worthy opposition. Especially when the lack of the run game is made worse by seven turnovers. With this roster, and a future NFL QB hurt, 2-2 against the Top-25 is discouraging for the fans, but not a surprising result. The PFF stats below confirm that the defense played very well against UCLA. Suck it up, ball out, and don't give up; a spot in the 2026 playoff is still in sight. On3Stats, Snaps, and PFF Grades for Oregon & UCLAThe Oregon loss to UCLA was a shocker to watch. Who got snaps in this game? How did they grade on PFF? Let's dig into it.
  23. This should be considered a team award. "The Oregon Ducks are the Guy Award Punters of the week." I mean we never even game Ettridge a chance against PSU, since we never punted. How is that fair?
  24. I hear Tommy Tofu is being moved to the slot as an extra blocker and for go routes. Dak is moving to tailback to make sure the QB can get the ball in his hands. Dylan Raiola is moving to left tackle because he understands the importance of giving the QB time to throw and is super motivated to block. Dan Lanning is moving up to the box to smack Mehringer in the head every time he calls a play that isn't suited for the defensive scheme the opponent is running. Alique Terry will replace the Duck doing 10 pushups additively every time there is a TFL or a sack on us. (Dan Lanning expects the crowd to jeer him on Saturday) Desperate times call for desperate measures. You heard it here first! (because obviously none of this is true)
  25. One has to wonder why this has to be done nearly mid season? What have the coaches been doing all year? What do they do during the bye week? Why do we spend so much money on an O line that seemingly fails to properly protect seemingly a majority of the time? Why can't we either identify O Line talent and/or coach them up? Why does it seem we never beat teams based on scheme or coaching but on talent? Hoping our D can contain The Manhunter this week.
  26. I hope something changes for the better because we don't seem to be the Ducks that we have known.
