Oh I fully get that it’s unlikely. That being said, how much would Army go up if they knock out ND? I expect BYU to lose to ASU, and CU could easily lose at KU this week. That means everyone in the B12 would have 2+ losses while Army would be undefeated with a late season win over ND in this fantasy world. I would love to see what happens. Go Army!

And Indiana could win out. Bottom line for me is we’re in good shape to try to win it.

Don’t disagree with your logic of how it should be, but I could still see 10-2 Georgia (or whoever loses SEC tiebreaker and doesn’t play in the SEC championship game) getting the nod for a 5 seed over 11-2 tOSU due to strength of schedule. As I said, depends on the nature of the theoretical tOSU loss. The real jockeying will be if Indiana beats tOSU and then loses to OBD to finish 12-1. Black eyes are already going to be plentiful when/if the tournament has 8 or 9 teams from the big 2.

Would be fun to see, they could be flirting with a ranking similar to the B12 winner the way that conference is going. They're currently only 4 spots behind BYU without a big win against ND.

I'll be mildly surprised if tOSU gets the nod over one of the big names from the SEC with the same number of losses. Probably depends on the nature of the loss by tOSU. I don't think that it is a certainty that a conference championship loser automatically gets the nod over a #3 10-2 SEC team (especially if it's Alabama or Georgia) that lost a conference tiebreaker and didn't play in their championship game. We shall see!

It’s a fine theory/spin I think, but it assumes hitting on everyone they bring in. You have to play the numbers game a bit when you can’t pick up new players mid-season. The portal will be inconsistent so you really need to have at least 10 - 15 frosh per year pan out to be a legitimate contender IMO. Why would you choose to not have the best 85+ players you could possibly get? There is no 53 player limit in college Prime. No draft or combine either Coach. It’s a good theory like I said, but I call BS.

Yes. The B1G absolutely gave us the FU newbie schedule. No breaks and playing multiple teams coming off byes…but we made it.

B12 is awful this year. CU, BYU, and ASU were picked at (or near) the very bottom and look where they’re at, it’s not because they’re stellar. It’s almost the equivalent of Indiana, Purdue, and Northwestern being at the top of the B1G. CU got absolutely manhandled up front against Nebraska. I think they’re slightly improved over last year and always have a punchers chance with all those first round picks at skill positions, but until proven otherwise, there’s no way they’d win 3 straight against quality opponents IMO. That being said, it’s still impressive and FSU will notice.

They don’t produce guidelines because they don’t exist. It’s probably impossible to have a “league” with 130 teams and unequivocally determine who the best 12 truly are. How do you “prove” the 5th place team in the best league is better than the 2nd place team in the 4th best league when they don’t even have a common opponent? You can’t. You come up with what is probably the best 12, give a nod to a degree of broader inclusion in case you’re wrong, and call it close enough. Anyone asking for “the formula” is just politicking IMO.

This is all hilarious to me. Every team not in the SEC or B1G (and I’m sure some within) thinks OBD are one of the kingpins in the rigged system. There’s always another boss.

I think most here agree Riley isn’t working out, it’s just hilarious for Finebaum to weigh in the way he did, his language choice is comical. Of course he wouldn’t play for any FBS program…he also wouldn’t bat 4th for the Dodgers, or accept an Emmy or Pulitzer.

It could have been different (more interesting?) if the B12 and ACC didn’t collectively fall on their faces. Specifically, FSU, Utah, and Okie State completely failing was huge in this not being more controversial. Those 3 teams were all considered strong contenders to make the playoff and are a combined 2-19 in conference play. Nice timing guys!

Interesting to see that perspective. I'm not feeling the controversy myself overall. Both the ACC and B12 are hoping to get 2 in, but that will only happen if things break just right. Will anyone be shocked if it's: SEC - 4 or 5 B1G - 3 or 4 B12 - 1 ACC - 1 ND - 1 G5 - 1 That's been my expectation since they first announced expanding to 12.

Silly season. DL may or may not be good at the NFL, but if he continues doing what he's doing, the NFL opportunity will always be an option. He likes where he's at and flat out doesn't seem like an NFL guy. In the "olden days", him leaving to get a once in a life-time payday may have been more of a concern, but that's pretty irrelevant now.

Weather forecasts much? People around the sports world seem to keep confusing Eugene for San Diego. Forecasts for Saturday: Madison, WI - H54, L40, 5% chance of rain Eugene, OR - H50, L36, 65% chance of rain San Diego, CA - H62, L49, no chance of anything foul, but this is the coldest day of the week! Of course people will counter with "but the wind", because rainy conditions in Eugene are generally wind free? These are fairly typical conditions for both places for mid-November I get it, there was like a 5% it could have been Hoth like, but it's not. Weather is not an alien thing to a team from Eugene. Will be hilarious if it snows in Eugene this week.

Over performing and the B12 stinks. IMO, BYU isn’t some world beater, the rest of the conference just took multiple steps backwards. That being said, Prime actually has a shot at making the playoff with a program the won a single game 2 years ago. Just feels like the universe is aligning for him to bail on every front.

Not a good time to be going 1-11, if they fail again next season they could do long-term damage to the program. I don't think they'll hesitate to come up with $70M. Given Prime's track record of generating revenue at CU, that buyout is a parking ticket IMO.
