  1. Noticed this as well. 😆 What adds to the hilarity is the piggy narrative that adding SDSU, etc. was some sort of decapitation of the MWC. Of the teams they pilfered, only BSU is actually good. The other 4 are pretty weak, but have potential due to tv markets, recruiting footprints, etc. If these 4 reach their potential, piggies will be middle of the pack in the scrap-12 pretty quickly. If they don’t reach their potential then the conference is a joke. Hard to know which path I like better!
  2. Do people think MSU is good? Our beat down of UCLA was exactly on par with what tOSU just did to MSU…stats are nearly identical we just happen to have a WR fall from the terrible playing surface which led to a pick 6. Look at UCLA’s stats on the road versus LSU last week. That’s a ranked SEC team on the road. Quick turnaround with Friday night game coming up, maybe we eased back a bit because it’s a long season? Tough crowd here. If people don’t think that was a dominant conference road win (which to me is always satisfying) then I’m barking up the wrong tree. 😆
  3. Held a conference foe offense to zero TDs on the road. Knocked opposing QB out of the game. We had a 100 yard rusher and receiver, and held UCLA to 172 yards of total offense…I could go on. Could have been 48-6, but that was dominant and perfectly satisfying.
  4. Is the AP poll really “the powers that be”? I’d drop them a couple spots if everything else is chalk. Really depends on how impressive other unbeatens rated behind them look. IMO you’re going to rightfully be penalized more for struggling with non-conference opponents you’re supposed to beat by 40, than you will against a decent conference opponent. The average AP voter is so out of touch it took them an additional week to realize they should drop OBD a good bit for that ridiculous performance against Idaho. None of these mechanics really matter in September. Go at least 10-2 and we most likely make the playoff no matter who the losses are against.
  5. All hilarious. It’s like they took some of their treasure and buried it in their back yard in case they need it someday. Today should be that day piggies. Instead, they got cheap with offers, burn bridges, burn through most of the money anyways…all to end up in a situation where Texas State is the holy grail and they’re identifying FCS schools to con into elevating. Clearly they have a delusional image of their national worth both as a league brand name and OSU/WSU as programs specifically. They really think they’re going to dominate their new conference because they used to be in a P5. The slide will continue with the new company, just as Utah lapped them in the real PAC.
  6. If you can’t see clearly in like 30 seconds, should just default to call on the field.
  7. Have those involved an individuals compensation? Stadiums being built, sure. Use of public monies, ok. I’m actually asking and don’t know. Just seems like there is zero chance they could be nimble enough at the federal level to accomplish anything on this front.
  8. In the grand scheme, not sure how much anyone will care that we beat an unranked UW. They will care about the general strength of the conference though, and I think Rutgers has a solid chance at 9-3. Go Rutgers!
  9. Makes some sense, but Gonzaga has it pretty dialed in…I wouldn’t mess with it if I was them. The hoops NCAA units they earn every year not worth risking for whatever the PAC is offering up.
  10. I understand why the PAC would want this, not sure what Gonzaga gets out of it.
  11. Mostly being panned pretty hard outside of the usual suspects that need them to look successful. Seems they’ve barfed away all good will and burned a lot of bridges.
  12. Like pigs in a slowly boiling pot, blissfully unaware of how much their environment is deteriorating.
  13. I’ve been thinking that this is a more likely ultimate outcome as opposed to a purely “super-conference” that actually kicks out the Vanderbilts and Northwesterns of the world.
  14. Totally. WSU will potentially be volatile this week with BSU on the immediate horizon. I’m guessing they get stomped pretty hard, and of course, UW lost to WSU, sooo.
  15. Fun article! But yes, being kind to OSU imo. I’d put OSU at #7, slot in Cal at #4 given they have a road win against the SEC. Rest of the sequence I agree with for sure.
  16. Sounds like this will be a small class, so will be tough to crack the top-5…but I like the look of our current “Star Average”, #1 on Rivals at least.
  17. Timing is everything and I understood we took the best deal for us longterm by joining…but I still feel most snookered over our initial half-share. We’re bringing more juice to the league than anyone else, outside of the obvious powers. The B1G got a great deal.
  18. Despite my posts, my interest is waning fast. The funny thing is, even if they “win”, look at what they’re fighting for as a prize, the ability to create/pilfer a G6 conference more cheaply. Awesome job piggies, tell me more. My ultimate takeaways are: No empathy from this guy, zero respect for them I’m personally now 💯 in favor of not playing them (even next year) They’re joining/creating a G6 conference, do I really care about the bean counting to get there? Cool story bro.
  19. I’m surprised people are surprised. Two west coast teams, one of them predicted to be terrible, yet they are LA based. Sounds like a late night slot to me. Im guessing that if UCLA was in the top-10 we’d have a different slot.
  20. Good concept, but trying to write a check they can’t cash and the others saw through it.
  21. Another thing that occurs to me, they think they’re being clever by approaching this with the idea of poaching the top end of the MWC. Somehow or another that will move the needle as a conference if you don’t include the bottom end. Big flaw imo. What you’re doing is increasing the odds for the champ to have multiple losses while only minimally increasing yours odds of having multiple ranked teams. Combine this with alienating all west coast G6 schools that don’t join up…who are you going to get to play you at home OOC? OBD definitely need to not provide a home game for them, or any G6, moving forward.
  22. And it’s all boiling down to the PIG2 joining the MWC without admitting that’s what is happening. Somehow this is better than peacefully adding the piggies to the MWC and getting a slightly better media deal than the MWC currently has. At some point, will someone realize Teresa’s ego probably isn’t worth this nonsense? Nah.
  23. Indeed. They’ve stooped to adding a team currently under investigation by the DOJ, which I believe was against the real P12 rules…selling their soul to add a powerhouse like Utah State. The P12 brand was tested (again) and found to only hold value for 4/5 additional schools that have been trying to join for decades. I’m sure they wish they’d kept their receipts. From what I’ve heard (and trust), the media deal will probably be $8-9m per school without going farther east.
  24. It’s funny peeking in on their boards. 12 months ago, no Beavis fan that was right in the head would think that keeping company with Utah State was progress. Now they have convinced themselves it’s an amazing potential conference mate. Solidly G6
