I would take Chesney over Lanning any day. I like Dan but this year has weird karma. Not our year.

Ucla has a lousy DL and OL, and our prep is awful. Indiana after the bye all over again. Today is the day we get knocked out of the playoff. Ucla does not have 5 guys who would make our two deep. Shocked!

I know it is last year but look at Nico’s run performance against Penn State. Contain that and we simply out man UCLA everywhere. UCLA will play hard but we would have to be out schemed. We could just about play man in the secondary, spy on Nico and crowd the LOS and blow them out. Our offense should be able grind them down as well. Chesney is a better coach than his talent.

48-20 Ducks! The Bruin WR’s are only average and we should be able to handle them. Nico is a good QB. Excellent runner so we should put a spy on him. He has a lot of passes blocked at the LOS. Their RB’s are very good but the OL is suspect. They have played a nothing schedule. Is UCLA more talented than USC? Hell no, not anywhere on the field. For UCLA to win Lanning will have to be out schemed. The Ducks are simply better. Cal is decent, Purdue somewhat decent, San Diego State is lousy and Maryland is one of the worst teams in the country. The Bruins have to run to win. Stop that and they are dead meat. Chesney is a heck of a coach but this is not Indiana. Bring the USC effort and this should be a rout.

Worth considering. Example…Texas DC is Will Muschamp, former HC. Will Venables at Oklahoma is a great DC. Hemay be available. Lots of folks over their skis as head coached but are great assistants.

No it is not the end. Most every High School kid in SoCal grew up a Trojan fan. They all think they can move the needle. I grew up in L.A. as a Bruin fan. The culture in L.A. is all about Trojan swagger. What you saw in number 8 was repeated all over the city. The culture is all about the inner city. It is what it is, Riley will recruit just fine. There is a reason the Bruins call them the University of Figueroa Ave. what you all witnessed was the real Toejam deal. That is exactly who they are. Remember #32 is hanging on their ring of honor. That is all you need to know. Those kids love that SOB and worse.

This was a Kirby Smartesk road win. I keep saying Lanning is Kirby. Georgia and even Bama (Saban’s teams) win like this on the road.

The way everyone including the media is talking I did not know the Ducks were 0-3. As an ex Bruin fan, grew up in LA 100 years ago I hope we beat the hell out of SCum on Saturday. My sense is Ducks 38 Condoms 24. Oh yea Toejams suck!

DR has played in big games, he damn near led an upset of Ohio State his freshman year in Columbus. Had he not gotten hurt vs SC last year, Nebraska would have won and he may have stayed. His uncle was Nebraska’s OL coach, but was fired. Lots led to his leaving and coming to Eugene. DR is a gamer and Donte is a skittish QB. Donte has to fix it or he can kiss his NFL career good bye. He reminds me of Josh Rosen minus the attitude. Donte is QB one and deservedly so.

This might not mean much, but Matayo was in a class with a family member last Spring, they went around the room asking about their major and he was undeclared. My only comment is about commitment. He lacks something or is not that good to start with. Just an observation.

It better be 60-3. If this is only a 21 point win then you might not want to watch the SC or UCLA games. The PSU game is a big deal. Not about if we win it is about how we win. This time it matters.

For the first time Lanning has to deal major adversity...we will see what he is made of...Will be interesting to see how he responds. Go Ducks!

Reality check…at this point who are we better than on our schedule other than Portland State? Never thought I would ask that question.

Truthfully I did not feel good about this year. There are teams that get close to the top but never seem to close the deal and they start to decline. We may be at that point for all the reasons discussed. Not that we can’t climb to the top but things just don’t feel right. We seem off. I will say Both Boise and Ok. State are far better than most would have thought. The biggest issue as far as just mot right is the DL play. All NFLers, over 5 mil in NIL and they have been a big zero thus far. I get the inexperience of the OL, but not the DL. Effort, coaching, scheme…who knows. At SC we either continue the spiral downward or we rise up and beat the daylights out of them. Hopefully Lanning has the ability to fix things.
