Marsh Duck - Quick Quacks Oregon v Boise State
Or, taking the reverse tack, “when you schedule and play BSU, better prepare and show up.” The Ducks were painful to watch in the first half. To see the Broncos execute and play hard enthusiastic football against the sleepwalking Ducks was painful. UO starts 1-0, W-L.

The B1G Labor Day Games Results and Games to be Played Today
Mensah (Miami through portal) went 26/29 386 yds with 5 TDs. against Stanford tonight in three and one-half quarters. Whew! Watch out for Mensah and Mario. Miami is favored to win the ACC Title with a relatively easy schedule this season. Our Ducks may encounter The U in a hurricane late in the season.

SEC, Big Ten Vote to Support Congressional College Sports Bill After Mad Scramble
Whereas, I like you would support the Bill its results are only a part of the needed changes. The timing is critical to begin “turning the ship” away from the looming iceberg. I do not like to see the federal government taking measures to overreach into collegiate sports which desperately need their own governing body to replace the intended and historical roles of the NCAA. I believe there should be two new bodies, if not more. College football is enough different and if a scale to require it’s own governing body. The other collegiate sports could have their own. I wonder sometimes if football should be divided further with a conference or division of the top 60 or so teams, and separate governance and regulations for the remaining D1, D2, and D3 or others. Their needs, environments, revenues and the situations of the athletes (compensation, meals, training and medical, scale, etc.) are dramatically different and one size fits all may not be the best now and the future. Evolve or die.

Marsh Duck - Will 2026 be the Best Passing Attack in Oregon's History?
The short answer is YES! If not, it was a coaching shortfall (failure). Go Ducks.

Will Sorsby Continue the Cam $cam?
Sorsby is a model collegiate football player in the modern era. He is the model of contemptible, and in the running for most derided (hated). Texas Tech has earned the same dubious honors as an institution. The AD, Kirby Hocutt, is striving for his own seat at the table of the despised. Stay tuned as there will be more chapters in the TTU-Sorsby saga. 🤮

Lack of Timely Hits and Pitching Dooms Ducks, 11-3
Darn those Ducks! They are better than that score indicates. This team has been a comeback team all season. The odds and history of teams down 1-0 in the Supers are heavily against our Ducks now. Will they fight their way back against all odds? Winning two from Texas in Austin to advance to the College World Series is a tall order. GO DUCKS!

Ducks Discard Hapless Huskies in Big-10 Baseball Tournament, 9-4
The good news is this. I live in the Eastern time zone. The game was scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM tonight. Since it will be moved to tomorrow I can go to bed before 10:00 tonight, and stay awake to see the final inning tomorrow. It’s an “old nan” thing.

FishDuck.com is Being SOLD: The OBD Forum Remains, but MOVES to a New Web Address (Please Read for New Address!)
We have had a good long run with FishDuck.com and you, Charles. You have been an amazing leader and publisher. The site and Forum, filled with news, information, and the opinions of fellow Ducks lovers, has consumed months, days and hours of my time challenging my views about Ducks sports. Thank you for everything. Congratulations as you free up time for others activities. Your archives are a repository like no other.

The Four Fastest Ducks for '26
Now that we know there is speed what will the coaches do with it? My pet peeves the last two years have included disappointing lack of exploiting speed advantages. Stewart, Moore, Johnson and Sadiq among others. We have the dudes so use them.

Is Change Coming to Oregon?
Refine and sharpen the offense.. Improve receivers’ fight for the ball. Improve penetration and pass rushing skills. Emphasize tackling and ball stripping techniques.

Former Eagles OC Kevin Patullo Available…
Patullo was cut loose today by the Philadelphia Eagles. His background looks like a coach the Ducks could really use. I hope that DL will at least arrange a call with Patullo’s agent.

Oregon Football: Grading the Dylan Raiola Transfer
Raiola does not strike me as a home run selection. If the plan is a development year and having a back up next season, then depending on how things go, there is the 2027 recruitment and next year’s portal in play to improve. I’m willing to watch and wait before any verdict. My first reaction was like being burned - “ouch”.

For the Record: Oregon 28-3 In B1G Football
Even though the Ducks last two football seasons ended with abrupt resounding THUDS, the overall performance and records of the 2024 and 2025 seasons is remarkable. Go Ducks.

ChatGPT On Raiola
For what it’s worth - if anything. On-Field Performance & Criticism High expectations vs. production: As a former five-star recruit, Raiola entered Nebraska with a lot of hype, but some analysts say he didn’t consistently “elevate the situation” as many fans hoped, especially in key Big Ten games. Critics point to issues like holding the ball too long and taking too many sacks. Pressure and sacks: Raiola was sacked at a high rate in several games, which drew scrutiny from commentators who saw it as a sign of slow decision-making or lack of pocket mobility. 🦵 Injury & Season Impact Broken leg: Raiola suffered a season-ending broken fibula while playing for Nebraska, which required surgery and sidelined him for the rest of the 2025 campaign. 🔄 Transfer & Team Situation Entering transfer portal: Following his injury and changes in the Nebraska program (including his brother decommitting and his uncle being let go from the staff), Raiola decided to transfer to Oregon for the next season. Fan reaction: Some Oregon fans have reacted negatively online to the news of Raiola’s commitment, questioning how he will impact the Ducks’ success. 📈 Other Public/Media Topics NIL valuation changes: Due in part to injury and shifting narratives, reports suggest his NIL (name-image-likeness) market value dropped significantly during the 2025 season.
