  1. As coach says, "it's never as bad or as good as it seems". Another favorite, "most improvement comes between week 1 and 2". I'll say this, a win is a win is a win. We played with more mistakes than I have seen in a long time. And yet had almost 500 yards of offense. We were 0-fer on 4th down, had many terribly timed needless penalties, but held on for a gutsy win against a well coached team that could win the Pac (8)nt and be ranked. I'm taking the dub, licking my chops for the Okie Cowboys and glad Duck football is finally here. This is gonna be a great year! Go Ducks! 🦆❤️🦆
  2. Thanks for the awesome update. Great weekend to finish my summer projects, excluding Sat. afternoon of course. Go Ducks!
  3. I dare say that Autzen would have been full against SJSU if the weather had been 97°! This normally would not be an issue for most teams, but this is USuC. The one true "blue blood" on the west coast. (Just ask them.) So this is an embarrassment to them. They seem to have fickle fans. Oregon fans show up even for a spring game. Ah, the joys of a new season of college football and social media roasts for fans. This is why we are so glad CFB is back. A full day of games, and 6 days of trolling our adversaries.
  4. Lanning doesn't run up the score. Unless it's personal. Everybody who can plays. If the lead gets big enough, a backup QB also. BSU will play hard, but not the same team as last year. We don't have any weaknesses. The O-line has been rated in the top the last 3 years, no drop off this year either. I think we cover until the #3 and #4's get in late. Beat the Broncos!!
  5. I guess we won't catch any team by surprise. We will be the "bowl game" for most teams. So we will have plenty of motivation to not be like PSU or UT last season! As long as the entire team stays off the Sports Illustrated cover! 😜
  6. For what it's worth, I think the Ducks won the 2nd half in both games. So maybe some adjustments were made. I too am a firm believer in our head coach. Since day 1. After all, he has a great name and the right initials.
  7. Thanks all for your insights. Some good stuff here.
  8. Can you direct me to a few past articles? I didn't read much at first cuz I was too disappointed. I agree this is a different team this year with a very high ceiling which I'm very excited about. Personally, I think evenly matched teams sometimes get the hot hand and like in baseball, lose 10-1 in the first game and come back and win 12-3 in the next game. I'm hoping this year is our game 2!
  9. We are 3 weeks from Duck football! A new season is fast approaching and I've been wondering all this off season: What's the real reason for the last 2 seasons ending in such huge losses. 13 wins each season. Great recruiting. Exciting teams. Top rated offensive line 3 years in a row. More players drafted each year. No problems with the law( well, nothing too major). Three assistants to head coaches. All that, and then 2 major disappointments. What have I got to complain about?! So please help me understand, what is the reason for these 2nd time around thrashings. Is it coaching? Experience? Is it just one of those things?
  10. Total insanity. It's also ludicrous to believe the Congress could legislate a cure. Funny thing, whenever someone wears #8 at Oregon, we all remember Marcus with fondness. It actually helps perpetuate his legacy. Daniels is short-sighted and apparently has $$ to burn. The vanity of some people!
  11. Thanks for the update. I didn't realize this had changed. I guess 5 in 5 works out to about the same, but no extension for injuries could be tough. Guess will have to wait until challenged in court.
  12. Um, the breakdown of Oregon s schedule is the Beavers. CFN made a B1G boo boo!
  13. Seems to me that experience sticking around longer in college has made the game more entertaining. Thanks to NIL, guys stay another season and mostly improve their draft status and bring more wins too. Allowing 4 games in a redshirt year is a good idea. I hope they keep it. You still need top quality players from highschool. The portal isn't enough by itself.
  14. It's a bit bold to assume they could win 60 - 70% of their games...even in the Pac Ain't! And yes, a relevant athletic department is necessary to keep enrollment up, even at the mighty Udub. Student enrollment is down pretty much everywhere and the trend is continuing. However, the dream of Sat afternoon kickoffs, more regional rivalries and greater affordability is a nice one, albeit a naive one. I'll stick with the Ducks system: great coaches recruiting talented character players, getting them NIL deals, playing in the best conference and kicking everyone else's collective butts!
  15. The G6 could play for the NCAA championship in football, seeing as currently there isn't one. Btw, the Pac(St)eight should be called the Pac Ain't
  16. Since Lanning's arrival, there has not been 1 offensive leader in RB or WR. Yet we have had the 2nd most explosive offense in CFB in that time. Seems to me things are working pretty well. Why change up? I like spreading the ball. RB by committee seems just fine to this ol' Duck fan. I believe in quality, not quantity.
  17. The defense will keep getting the ball back for Dante and friends. The offense will have many opportunities to blow 'craters' in opposing teams. The defense will make sure the offense has "much Moore"! 😉
  18. This kid has huge upside. I bet he gets a 4th* by end of his senior year. Best them Huskies again! Saweet.
  19. What's awesome to me is that not only are these players quality talent, but quality in character. We're getting great players who are great humans. I love that!
  20. Thanks for the memories! I remembered almost every TD. (I forgot how many bad uniforms we wore though) DAT was my granddaughters favorite all time Duck. Is it August yet?!
  21. Going 0 for 14 with runners in scoring position didn't give our pitchers any help either. Texas is well coached, as are we. Guess it's "wait till next year". Thanks for all the info Charles.
  22. I'd say "unbelievable"! But in today's world, not really too surprising. I just hope this isn't really precedent setting.
  23. Almost..... Way to fight guys. Great season.
