Miami Boosters Serious about Acquiring Cristobal
They had better be willing to spend it on a stadium on campus. They also better be willing to lower their entrance scores for student athletes. As of now, athletes are held to the same standards as other students. This isn’t the 80’s and 90’s anymore. And don’t bring up 2001. That was solely due to Butch Davis’ loose interpretation of NCAA rules. Just look at his record at UNC.

Miami Boosters Serious about Acquiring Cristobal
“The U” needs much deeper pockets if they want to match Uncle Phil. That is, if PK wants to keep MC around. I’ve heard he’s willing to do what it takes to keep him. Miami is probably looking for the alumni discount.

Oregon/Oregon State Game Score Prediction Contest
The Beavs stink on the road but this isn’t the typical road game. Lots of orange in the stands at Autzen. It’s a hard fought battle like last year, but Oregon drives down in the final minutes with a 7 point lead to seal it with a FG. Unfortunately, Lewis shanks it and Beavis goes on to tie it with a solid 2-minute drill. Oregon gets the ball first in OT and Lewis nails a 37 yarder. However, Beavis gets a TD for the win. Beavers 30 - Ducks 27 0 TO’s created 2 sacks 207 passing yards.

If Florida Offers Will Mario Turn Them Down?
I guess I could handle getting Peterson if Mario were to leave. However, we must be ready for Jimmy Lake to come with him.

If Florida Offers Will Mario Turn Them Down?
Chris Petersen is 0 for 2 against Mario. I know who I prefer.

If Florida Offers Will Mario Turn Them Down?
The big question is why have the last 3 coaches failed so badly? What is going on at Florida that has caused it to become a black hole for football coaches? It could be a bad administration, meddling boosters or both. Maybe they were just all and coaches.

Ducks Basketball Team may have talent but it's well hidden
That’s awesome. The Zags had another big man named Collins a few years ago who could move like that. The Blazers drafted him, but he didn’t do much. He may have come out too early. I think he’s with the Spurs now.

Ducks Basketball Team may have talent but it's well hidden
I always thought skinny, big men were a thing of the past (Bol Bol?). However, there are some decent big men out there who can dominate a game.

He’s got some good players coming in next year.

Rooting for the Huskies?
If Oregon loses then I won’t really care, but I lived in Spokane for 14 years. Therefore, the Cougs always have my allegiance in the Apple Cup.

Utah Debacle Could Make "Cristobal Reconsider his Future in Eugene"
I was well aware that Rich Brooks did well in Lexington. I am also aware that Mike Belotti and Helfrich were pretty good on TV (Helfrich still is).

It's "Next Man Up" Time for the Ducks Receivers
I’ve been waiting for these two Freshman (Franklin and Thornton) to get more reps. I wasn’t too concerned when I heard Redd and JJ were out because the young guys have a lot of upside.

No. 1 JUCO Offensive Tackle De-Commits from Oregon
I know he didn’t need much convincing to stay near home (word is he’s a MSU lean). However, we can all be sure that so long as MC is a hot name for open jobs, other coaches will use that fact to try and lure his recruits. It’s all part of the game.

Utah Debacle Could Make "Cristobal Reconsider his Future in Eugene"
Yes, but his NEXT job after Oregon was the Rams. A job in which he was fired. I call it The Curse of the Duck.

Utah Debacle Could Make "Cristobal Reconsider his Future in Eugene"
First things first. Every Duck coach who has left Oregon has failed miserably at their next job (Belotti included). I don’t know why, but these are the facts. Second, if MC takes the Gator job he’s going to get 3 years to completely turn it around. This means beating Kirby and Saban. He will most likely be gone in 2 years if he posts .500 or below records. He better negotiate a massive buyout. Third, Miami can’t pay him what he can earn at Oregon and they have terrible football facilities. He also has to deal with getting recruits who can qualify academically. Miami is a lot like Stanford and UCLA in that respect. It’s just not as easy to win there anymore. I’m not saying he won’t leave but Oregon has a lot of upside if he decides to stay.

MC Over-Valued
Correct. The only person who should be making Saban money is Saban. Mel Tucker at $9M/year still baffles me.

Justin Herbert IS an Elite NFL Quarterback
Not too shabby for a guy who was only Honorable Mention on the 2019 All-Pac 12 team.

Rename the War
I think “The Courteous Skirmish” is also kind of catchy.
-
Rename the War
True. How about we switch “aggression” with “antagonism”. That might be a better name for the uw game.
-
Rename the War
The War of Northern Aggression. After all, Corvallis is north of Eugene.

MC Over-Valued
Kiffin wouldn’t come here. He’s being courted by all of the SEC teams. He’ll be making Saban money by the end of the season.

MC Over-Valued
Does anybody know how long it took Dabo Swinney to get his team to a championship level? It took him 7 years to get to a championship game and 8 to win one. It took him a bit to get the right players and coaches together. If MC ever leaves it will be tough sledding in Eugene for a good while. For one thing, we are second fiddle to the SEC in pecking order for available coaches. We also have to find someone who won’t use Oregon as a stepping stone to a better job. That’s hard to do unless they’re from the West Coast. Long story short. Give the man some time. His team is young, which is why I think he stuck with a Senior QB. He is also dealing with a ton of injuries. There are 5 starters missing on offense and 6 on defense. If anything, he needs to look at what is happening in the strength and conditioning program and assess how how and why he is losing players in practice.

The Platypus Bowl is for all the marbles!
That shouldn’t be too hard based on their performance this weekend.

is this Ridiculous or is Football Really, Really Bad in the West?
Yes, it is ridiculous. Especially the Kellen Moore prediction. He’s ripe for a HC job in the NFL. There’s no way he’s going to uw. Personally, I think the Cowboys should fire McCarthy after the season and hire Kellen, but Jerry doesn’t listen to me. He never has. Furthermore, I think football is a dying game on the West Coast as a whole. I think you’re going to see it removed from a lot of school districts and become more of a club sport. Fewer and fewer kids out West are playing the game due to the stigma of injuries. West Coast parents have always been more progressive while folks from the Midwest and the South still have an old school, blue collar mindset. Football is a huge part of their culture and some communities live and die with their HS football teams. In fact, I’ve met quite a few kids from the South who played HS football strictly because their parents made them. It was done more to teach them discipline and hard work.

Why did Mycah Pittman Leave Now?
I was listening to Rick Neuweasel the other morning on ESPN radio. He admitted something that we all know, but is seldom talked about overtly. He said “The run-off game is strong among coaches”. He then went on to say how coaches have conversations with some of their players about how their services will not be needed in the future, but they will help them find a spot at a different school. This is how they make room for bigger signing classes. What I thought was most interesting is since the onset of the transfer portal, these players no longer get help from their former coach with finding another team, so it has become more difficult for a lot of the kids. Those are the ones who find themselves in the FCS or D2. This may not have anything to do with MP, but if he’s not getting the ball much and there is new talent coming in then the writing is on the wall.
