  1. Liberty went 13-0 in a G5 conference. If they do the same next year, they will probably be in the playoffs. As we have said about Oregon several times, we can only play the teams on our schedule.
  2. Here are a few "somethings": 1. All of Oregon's recruits and potential recruits will watch. 2. 3-4 weeks of extra practice for next year's starters and backups. 3. Extra game exposure at a NY6 game for new starters in for those who will sit out. 4. In the record books this is a trip to a NY6 game - trusting it will be a win. 5. A chance to finish the year with 12 wins (how often does that happen?).
  3. Not nervous at all... because my life does not depend on it. "Don't worry, be happy."
  4. The mantra for this Friday should be "Leave No Doubt."
  5. I think they are going to come up with a plan that gets the ball out of Penix' hand quickly. If so, he will be easier to protect, but at the same time, there won't be enough time for the deep routes to develop.
  6. Just as shocking is how few yards the ducks gained on the ground. The Beavers did a great job of stopping our running attack. Both teams had a short week to prepare, but the Beavs had a very difficult, hard fought, wire to wire, emotionally draining, very close loss last week against the undefeated Huskies. Meanwhile, the Ducks were able to rest their starters in the second half last week against a weaker team that they blew out of the water. Kudos to the Beavers that played a very good game last night!
  7. I believe that the Ducks will take a transfer QB this year, but not because they don´t believe that Ty is the Guy. We need a good back up. They should bring in a one year transfer to compete with Ty for the starting job. Whoever wins is QB1; whoever loses is QB2. If the Ducks don´t bring in a transfer, our only back ups are redshirt freshman Novosad and two true freshmen. Do we trust that one of the 3 will be able to step up and lead the team if Ty were to go down? I want a one year transfer only because I think that one or more of the 3 freshmen will be ready by their sophomore year. They need to know they've got a shot and that Oregon will not be bringing in portal QBs their whole time in Eugene. Let's finally see some long term QB development.
  8. Good post Rougaroux! Welcome to the forum. I gotta say that I don't think that Mr. Perkins is saying that QBs should NEVER run. The general consensus here is that the QB should run SOME. Ever since Chip Kelly was the OC at Oregon, the offense here has had a running QB... except under MC (who, we are all thankful today, is coaching somewhere else). He has to have enough run plays in a game to force the opposing defense to account for the possibility. Another thing we have experienced here at Oregon is that, since Marcus Mariota's redshirt freshman year, we have not had a super reliable backup at QB. We have had at least 3 QBs go down with injuries on running plays that totally changed the trajectory of the season - seasons that woulda-shoulda-coulda been playing for a championship, starting with Dennis Dixon and the last time was last year when we stopped winning after Nix went down. How would your opinion change if Daniels had an injury that kept him out of 3 games each of the last few years?
  9. That would feel so right... especially if we met tOSU in the finals. Right some wrongs.
  10. It cost Bo the stand alone record... And more icing on his Heisman cake.
  11. ... Or Colt Lyerla dragging his quarterback into the endzone... when the QB tried to pull the ball on the option read and neither one of them let go. 🙃
  12. They were more than patient with Helton.
  13. He's scouring the internet as we speak! Looking forward to it Charles.
  14. I wonder if they will sell out the season tickets next year????
  15. OK! Made me laugh! That is SKILL. 18 or 19???? I'm buying!
  16. 52-17 Oregon 2 T.O. 6 Sacks 3 TD passes 323 yards
  17. All depends on what Stein or any other assistant wants. How long was DL at Georgia? He wasn't offered any other jobs before Oregon came along??? Did DL wait for a better job, or did he jump at the first one that came along? WS should get offered a HC job this year, probably G5. Is that what he wants to do? or does he prove that he belongs at a Power 5 school and stay for 2 or 3 more years? Dillingham was offered his dream job after one year at Oregon, but ASU was a total dumpster fire looking at severe NCAA sanctions. Who would want to go there? How about a guy that is a brilliant football mind who would love to coach at ASU? Win-Win. I don't know that anyone would expect Dilly to have the Sun Devils as far along as he has them at this point. So, where is the place that needs a WS type of guy... that WS would LOVE to go and coach??? ...and we are back where I started: All depends on what Stein wants.
  18. I am thinking ( because OSU is 11/10ap) that it would look better on our resume to have OSU narrowly beat UW. It would move us ahead of UW, move OSU into the top 10, and would not move UW out of the top 10. If the Beavers and UW are both top 10, and we beat them both by more than 10, that should push us ahead of tOSU or Michigan, (whoever loses), and keep us ahead of the other 1 loss teams.
  19. Actually, it will be Stein and his crew vs. Dillingham and his crew. Still interesting, but not a fair fight.
  20. And how do you think the current team of coaches and players reacted to Dan's answer? How do you think recruits and potential recruits are responding? What Dan did was the single most impactful recruiting move that he could have possibly made. How relieved and focused is the present team going to be now that Dan just did everything that he could to put this thing to bed. If Dan would have talked to TAM just to get another raise, all the good mentioned above would immediately be put on hold, the entire team would lose focus over the worry, and recruits would be thrown into limbo. So much better to step on that ugly bug!
  21. Beavers have never been disrespected by THIS fan.
  22. Ducks 56-24 3 TO 4 sacks 300 passing
