These guys have every resource imaginable available to them to avoid getting behind the wheel after drinking. At some point, personal responsibility has to matter.Hopefully nobody was hurt, and I expect Lanning and the program to handle it appropriately once they have all the facts.

Would like to know more about that.If true, it would explain the season.Does this bring into question Lannings control of this team?"Springfield Police told The Oregonian/OregonLive on Sunday that online rumors of street racing involving Oregon football players were unfounded, and that several Oregon players were contacted by police early Sunday morning because they were in the area of a separate pursuit. That pursuit, which resulted in Springfield Police discovering an abandoned vehicle, was unrelated to Stewart's alleged DUII arrest. Springfield PD is no longer pursuing the case involving the abandoned vehicle, an official said."
Monday at 03:58 PM4 days No. Dakorian bailed Stewart out yesterday. Jamari, Mesiah Hampton and three others were racing. Hampton got away…the others arrested is what is reported. Idiots. I would suspend all for the Illinois game. Time for life lessons. This team has issues. They sound like USC. Enough is enough!

Monday at 04:49 PM4 days Moderator No. This wired (un)social media world takes what may be a fact and turns it into a legion of troubles and worries. This is not new for our species; gossip doesn't need an accelerator. It's children playing the game of Telephone. And the media that used to be a guardian of reporting the truth simply wants to be the first to report and damn the consequences. All of the above may be true, but get the facts; facts are inconvenient things.

Monday at 05:01 PM4 days No. What punishment does Dan Lanning give to Evan Stewart? Nothing, if we use the example of Rashaad Samples with his DUI from last summer. These players, especially the stars make a lot of NIL money. He had choices, take a cab, take an uber.He has already seriously damaged his draft value. Next man up IMHO.

Monday at 05:22 PM4 days Author No. Sounds like somebody was out celebrating mediocrity after an uninspired win over a troubled team. I think our coach needs to stop accepting mediocrity himself and start holding these kids accountable to the championship standard their talent is capable of reaching. They should be staying humble, keeping their noses to the grindstone, and constantly striving for more.
Monday at 05:59 PM3 days No. SPD reports make no reference to street racing..., in fact, Oregonian article reports SPD says any connection to street racing allegations were "unfounded".

Monday at 10:08 PM3 days No. I really like Evan Stewart. He always has a great attitude. Always smiling. He made a poor choice. I hope he can learn from it. I don't think he should be destroyed over it.I hope Lanning is firm but fair
Monday at 10:18 PM3 days No. Well, you can't confirm everything until everything comes to light, but my best effort to find more mud to sling yielded these results:Rumors are "unfounded": The Springfield Police Department explicitly stated that online rumors regarding Oregon football players street racing are completely baseless. No other arrests: No other Oregon players face any legal charges or citations stemming from that night. The only other player directly tied to the incident is wide receiver Dakorien Moore, who was simply the third party that arrived to pick Stewart up from jail following his release. Perhaps a bit more restraint before jumping on the rumor mill.Go Ducks! Edited Monday at 10:22 PM3 days by John Charles

Monday at 10:53 PM3 days No. Evan Stewart is of age and is pretty slight and lean. 1 beer could be enough to trip the legal limit. Just need to wait for more facts. If he was out driving plowed and all over the road that's one thing, but if he was pulled over for speeding or some other minor infraction, and secondarily breathalyzed as barely over the limit when he didn't think he was, that would be very different, even though the law doesn't distinguish. Judge and coaches should handle them very differently. If we do get Evan back after his injury heals, I'm not sure Lott will give him the position back.

15 hours ago15 hr No. According to the Register Guard, Evan Stewarts driving license was suspended for not showing up in traffic court a few times. I would post but it is behind a pay wall.
15 hours ago15 hr No. It's reported that Stewarts DL is suspended for failure to show up in court for other tickets. Too much money, too little civic responsibility. Is he gone or will Dan use this as a learning experience. Santa Rosa types faster than me.
2 hours ago2 hr No. Prosecutors decline to file DUII charge against Oregon Ducks receiver Evan Stewart
1 hour ago1 hr No. Let's not forget that in Oregon, if it's your first DUII...Oregon’s DUI diversion program is a court-supervised alternative to a conviction. It is designed for certain individuals charged with DUI who are willing to meet a series of requirements over a defined period of time.Diversion is not a dismissal of the charge at the outset. Instead, it is an agreement with the court: if all conditions are successfully completed, the DUI charge may ultimately be dismissed. It's not the end of the world for ES. But IT IS time to get serious about his future. I'm fairly certain DL will want him to successfully go thru diversion.
1 hour ago1 hr No. Sounds like there will be no DUII charges at all, so no diversion required. Instead he's being charged with driving with a suspended license, a class A traffic violation. That's certainly a break for him.
1 hour ago1 hr No. A report emerged Friday from KATU News that prosecutors have declined to file a DUII charge against Oregon wide receiver Evan Stewart following his arrest over the weekend. A separate report from Ryan Clark of The Oregonian notes that prosecutors are awaiting delivery of evidence. Clark quoted the Springfield Police Department deputy chief, George Crolly: “The prosecutor has not dismissed charges. The prosecutor has not filed charges as they are awaiting evidence.”
