  3. Somehow, I do not think this is the first of two "possible" meetings this year. Oregon vs. Oklahoma State Stakes Rise For This One Reason
  4. We invite you to always explore the “News” on the menu bar in the header. When you click on the word “News,” you will see an index of multiple links to sports news sites for your enjoyment! From now on, except for a very few circumstances, our threads will be just one page. Advertising only appears on the first page and we want to make as much money as possible for the site. The bonus in doing this is that it will be easier for everyone to move around the thread. You will always be able to refer to the previous thread for reference. 5. The humidity in socal has been deep south levels for the past few weeks, which is atypical to go on for so long. I've living in San Diego over 20 years and this is the longest and most intense humidity I can remember. Southern Californian's deal with this one of two ways: head to the beach to soak in the 70 degree Pacific Ocean or stay in an air conditioned spot. I'm not surprised the treated this like an NFL preseason game.

  7. I'm back from the off-season, but still busy as heck. I think it's most likely we will see 2s and 3s as part of the baseline plan from the kickoff, just because that is what happened last year. Some position battles carry into the out of conference start of the season. RB comes to mind from last year. I do think we will see players at decided positions that aren't part of the two deep be put in as soon as we have a comfortable enough lead. Whether or not we have blowout is dependent on how go everyone plays, because I think pretty much everyone is going to play.
  8. It actually got to nearly 97 in LA yesterday.......a health issue for quite a few folks in direct sun for 4 hours.
  9. They will have one advantage against Oregon on September 12th. It will likely be 100+ degrees. They will be much improved over last season, but it will probably take some time to gel. I also don’t think they will be very good defensively. Mestemaker is going to have to score a lot of points.

  11. Oklahoma State QB led the nation last year in passing while at the Mean Green of North Texas. Will the Duck defense be up to the task? Will the future NFL front line feast on the new Cowboy QB? Oregon Ducks On SIOregon vs. Oklahoma State Stakes Rise For This One ReasonWhile the No. 2 Oregon Ducks prepare for their season opener on Sept. 5 against the Boise State Broncos at Autzen Stadium, many fans are also looking forward to
  12. I don’t think the Ducks will get a chance to get too deep into the roster. There are three things in life that are certain. Death, taxes and Boise State playing great against Oregon. I’ll wait to give my prediction later in the week, but I think it will be a one-score game. Part of the reasoning is BSU’s consistency and it being the first game of the season. The other part is Oregon’s new coordinators. They’re not new to the program, but I think they’ll experience some growing pains. Especially if they try to run a vanilla game plan.
  13. Trying to decide what is more shocking for Ex-Ducks: Byron Cardwell’s 5 carries for -4 yards against Youngstown State. Or Justin Flowe being 3rd string on UNLV’s depth chart. Yikes!
  14. Both things can, and I hope are true. As Dr. Hilarius stated
  15. A colleague of mine knows one of the coaches at PSU and was saying they've improved a lot this off season... But still a long way to climb.
  16. Lanning will run it up as much as he can in the first 2.5 quarters and then he'll let the reserves out. And I say he'll run it up not out of a vindictive desire to embarrass but to give his ones practice of playing full speed in a game. Half way through the third if the score is lopsided the ones are coming out entirely. Lanning doesn't care about the spread. He'll get his reserves in to see what they can do.
  17. I will say, I used to love watching the Ducks at the Coliseum because they have fantastic nachos. 🤷‍♀️
  18. I want to see the 2nd and 3rd stringers come in and dominate in the 2nd half. According to sources, OR has a blue chip roster rate of 83% or #4 in FBS. Boise St has a blue chip rate of 1%, good for #84. If our backups don’t dominate, even against their starters, we have a problem.
  19. Maybe they are still practicing "social distancing"? Maybe they are trying to boost live stream viewership? Maybe their fan base didn't know today was game day? Whatever the reason, I bet DL and his staff fielded a few recruit calls today!
  20. Come on, Man! You can't see 40,000 cardinal colored tee shirts blending in with the robust cardinal-colored seats. What, are you blind? 🤪 According to Delta Force, camouflage helps you Fake On!🥸
  21. In fairness, it was 88 degrees and 60+% humidity in UVA's sold-out Scott Stadium.
  22. OBD had more fans at the Spring game. 54,000? At least 44,000 were disguised as empty seats. This looked like way back in the day: Bowdoin vs Colby, with three dozen or so canines missing from the sidelines, and a half dozen kegs missing from the stands. As I noted in another post: Way to rep the big ten. And these guys get a full share? 🤮
  23. Limit injury potential on starters when game is out of reach, and develop reserves and younger players. Build up the true freshmen that have shined in camp to get experience in games. Some of them sound like potential starters or major rotation players by later in the season. Need to keep starters fresher for a 16 game schudule
  24. Yesterday
  25. Typo on the "official attendance ". 5114 at best
  26. The "official attendance" was 51,144. Yes, that's the official box score. There is no freakin way that many people showed their tickets at the turnstiles. It was warm. It was SJSU. But, it was the home opener with roster and assistant coach changes. Those photos looked like recent snapshots at the Rose Bowl when UCLA had struggling attendance. Wonder if there were any recruits that Oregon is pursuing who were taking an official visit?
  27. The cost of the least expensive ticket kept many away.....$9. LOL. In fairness....it was over 90 degrees in a stadium with no shade. Playing a bad team. When they play Oregon it will be packed. Of course the game may be over by half time.
