We needed this scrimmage game tonight.

Yup. I don't mind them celebrating as a group afterwards on the sideline. But leave that silly end zone dancing in the locker room.

Really impressed with Riggs’ vision. He looks great. Raiola didn’t miss a beat when he came in. Good to see. OL still looks like it needs work.

Not a single sack? 😔

I like the Chip Kelly days he made them hand the ball deliberately and quickly to the closest official I think that's the attitude we need to get back to

Good to see Raiola demonstrating a good grasp of the offense. Pretty decisive with his execution as well.

I guess my sarcastic prediction of Oregon 34-31 isn't going to hold up tonight. So that's good.

I hope they continue to tamp down on that. I want them celebrating wins not individual achievements.

Raiola... Looks like the scrubs are in....

I actually was a little surprised by some of the initial celebration dances, subdued as they were, simply due to the idea of how dismally last week ended.

Now the question is who will we see in the 2nd half?

PSU is running the ball a lot and the QB when given a pressure is throwing the ball quick. Couple plays he was dead to rights but just threw it a hair faster than they could get to him. Those throws were all incomplete with open intentional grounding. That's what Lanning wants to see. The reality is that unless the Ducks rush 5 I don't see a ton of sacks happening. Too easy to get rid of the ball before getting hit. I think I did see the Ducks rush five one down though and that was the grounding penalty.

Zero sacks for the returning starters on the D Line. I expected more. Maybe some of the 2nd or 3rd stringers can show them how it’s done in the second half.- Portland State Game Thread
I think he is in a boot.- Portland State Game Thread

My TV is appreciating not getting yelled at tonight. I was pretty hard on it last week.- Today

Tuning in late to the game. I'm not surprised about the score so far, hopefully that means overall the team is playing cleaner and not making lazy/sloppy mistakes. Watching the last couple offensive plays, I'm still unimpressed with the OL. They should not be giving up a sack to a team like PSU and the play afterward Iuli got beat on his run block attempt allowing Davidson to go down after only a short gain. Still a lot of work to do.- Portland State Game Thread
I'm thinking like this: Less reps makes them hungry. They can go off each other in practice without killing each other. Plus, we're showing what we can do. I definitely don't like that. Mehringer-in my mind-showed his chops. He can call plays - very well. t On the formation penalty to start the second quarter-TE Olesh showed the agility the lineman need (and again showed they don't have). Now I don't necessarily believe teams haven't figured out our OL don't move well (quickly) laterally-but I don't want to show that right now. And we are. That is why I shut things down. Let the scrubs get experience and exposure. As well-they get shown on film who they actually are at present. I realize that exposes depth, but next year they will be playing and getting paid more. If the guys are truly hungry, they will show it next week because they didn't get tonight. I am very unconventional about these things. I don't want to be pigeonholed. You can't catch me if you can't find me. You can't find me if you don't see what I do. Shut it down. Nobody needs more evidence right now. We have shown a career's worth of tells and tendencies the past 12 months.- Portland State Game Thread
Yes, you can tell they're excited to play football. I was thinking one of the biggest things I want to see in this game is no penalties, play with purpose, play with discipline, play with energy.- Portland State Game Thread
28-0. Bring in the scrubs. The players made their point. Take away scouting advantages and play vanilla ball PLEASE- Portland State Game Thread
It's about execution this game and this team needs reps. And they're playing a hit angry. There is a bit more purpose to how they're playing right now.- "It's All ABOUT ME!" & How That Will NOW Benefit the Team & Fans...
I found out this week that Georgia pays its players based on performance. They get paid more when they start, reach designed goals, reach accolades like all SEC teams etc. I wish all teams, in all leagues structured their contracts like that. Market Value is subjective. So is categorized position values. For instance, the Giants refused to pay an obvious upper level performer at RB in Saquon Barkley, then the Eagles paid him. Minnesota rewards a high performing WR (don't even know his name-that's how anonymous his performance was to me) with a ridiculous 180M guaranteed contract. Stupid. I love the Steelers. They paid him by position grade. The dude didn't do anything to make the Vikings a contender. I HATE THAT. If you are marginally making my team better, you go get paid by somebody else. I'll find and develop the guys that will get me my title. All I need is about 14 super dudes. I'll find the guys that crack pads, fill space properly, and take away QB options instead of STARING AT HIM ON PASSING PLAYS (we all know how much I can't stand guys looking at the QB-you're benched on my team doing that). Enough of my soliloquy. I pay for daily performance is what I should have said.- Portland State Game Thread
This could get very very very ugly. If I'm Lanning unfortunately for PSU I'm running up the score as much as I can. I'm not slowing down at all until half way into the 4th. - Portland State Game Thread
