There an interesting arc when it comes to a sports narrative. If the spunky underdog starts winning over a period of seasons, they become the villain. The Patriots first Super Bowl was an underdog story. By the end of their run, they were an Evil Empire. Same with the Chiefs and Mahomes. We’ve been doing well for a long time now. We’re no longer the lovable underdog; we’re now the perennial underachievers. That seems to be the narrative anyway. The only way to deal with that is to block out the noise and just win, baby.

Never mind, I was hoping they'd figure out how to to run the ball against this defense but apparently not.

It's rough isn't it? Some of these plays should never be run outside peewee football. Why is it so hard to get Jamari one on one with a LB? Why do we have an empty backfield and 4 WRs next to the sideline? If you want to run a wildcat replace the QB with a blocker. I'm seeing the want to option out of it based on the look, but even that is stupid. It's really rough to watch.

Trick plays like that when we're playing a team that should be over-matched against us just smack of desperation. It feels like we just don't know how to get into any kind of regular offensive rhythm so we're dipping into a bag of tricks that we hope work.
