  1. Past hour

  2. Pretty much. Riley also issued a statement of apology.....I bet the AD wrote it.
  3. You are assuming an SC Trojan can read.
  4. Trigger warning… I wonder how many teams have won a D1 natty when Dyer was down. 😉
  5. From the looks of the jersey the theme is Party City.
  6. He explains it in his X post. I always thought diving to the side of the defender would be a safer play, however it could lead to more shoulder injuries if not done correctly. CFB is a little better than the NFL in that once the player is down he can’t be hit.
  7. Sorry, but It wasn't just that player's lack of remorse or his actually enjoying his new-found celebrity status on the Trojan bench, it was all those other SC players who were congratulating him on his magnificent accomplishment ... while the SC coaches appeared to be unaware of or simply went on ignoring that disgusting behavior. That leaves the kind of stain on a program and its coaches and players that no amount of soap can wash out.
  8. Puts their body in harms way... They'll be hit for sure. However, their head would be higher in the tackle and probably not hit.
  9. I've been thinking today about how I would feel had it been OBD on the wrong side of that scene. I definitely would have been embarrassed and disgusted, and I would have expected serious repercussions afterward. I probably wouldn't have turned the game off... I imagine many USC fans felt similarly - a bit of cognitive dissonance. The one-game suspension works to counter that a bit in the fanbase. It's inadequate IMO, but had it been OBD i probably see that and think to myself that Dan has it handled. It helps us internally justify our continued Fandom. "See, we're not the bad guys..." Meanwhile, I doubt the culture in their program changes. I truly hope and tend to believe that the current culture at OBD is better than that.
  10. Hmmm... Pass... I mean I wasn't a fan of the grateful dead ones last year but I respect the history they were paying hommage to. Maybe I'll change my mind if I know if these are connected to a theme.
  11. But what is the alternative? I think diving head first isn't a better way to do it.
  12. "You can take the thug out of the street, but not the street out of the thug. From the looks of the SC sidelines as the Moore injury situation played out, thuggishness appears to be ingrained in their football culture." This (above) is what I intended to post, UNTIL I read this letter of apology (link below). While I'm still angry about the whole "disgusting" episode, ultimately the higher road requires me to acknowledge once again that "to err is human, to forgive is divine." https://usctrojans.com/news/2026/9/27/usc-football-issues-suspension-and-statement-regarding-desman-stephens-ii
  13. Check out the pass pro from the RBs. I haven't rewatched but it seemed they took a step up from last year.
  14. The solution is always the same: Just Win, Baby! We play currently ranked #23 UCLA in 13 days. And that Boise State win is going to look stronger and stronger as we get later into the season. The bye week comes at a great time as it also give our coaches 13 more days to figure out our defensive riddle. The great acid test known as 'winning' almost always has a way of resolving the ranking frustration. GO DUCKS!
  15. And... maybe we give the QB's sharp, metal, cleats.
  16. I'm rewatching the game this afternoon just to see the positive play from OBD. So proud of how they responded to the hit on Dante. Not all is lost. 🦆
  17. It took a while, but I finally discovered that the trick is to first... and this part is critical, lift up the seat. When this tactic is implemented, I find that my success rate of not whizzing on the toilet seat is a crazy 100%. 😉🤔
  18. Mandatory week of baseball practice for all QB's? 🤔 😁
  19. It has apparently been leaked earlier this year by Dick’s Sporting Goods.
  20. I'd guess the conversation from USC to Stephens went something like this: "Here's you apology statement that you're going to read exactly as written."
  21. Today

  22. No one can tell me that the SC coaches didn't know what was going on with all the snickers and high-fives and love pats going on over on the bench with Stephens enjoying his sudden celebrity status. That's as good an example of a team's culture as anything I've seen televised and it isn't pretty. If I were the AD I'd have some serious penalties waiting for people, coaches and players, called into my office. I'd like to think that the Ducks would never allow that to happen. And I will bet serious money that Dan and the rest of the staff are using that disgusting display as a teaching moment.
  23. Collin Simmons is the sort of knucklehead who, when using a public lavatory, misses the toilet and hits the seat.
  24. Not really. Our D will get killed by the best teams. But maybe if Raiola is in we can keep up with the scoring.
  25. A public apology has been issued by Stephens ......it was a disgusting display of the worst in people.
  26. Former Cal QB Nate Longshore brings up an interesting topic. When a QB slides he’s trusting the defense to follow the rules. While most defenders let up, those who don’t seriously injure the QB more often than not. This is the third Duck game I’ve seen where a sliding QB was injured by the defender. One was our DB knocking the opposing QB out and the other was Vernon Adams against EWU.
