We're an UNDERDOG? AP Poll Says USC is No. 12, to Face No. 20 Oregon....
I think our defense will show enough throughout. Our season goes as far as our offensive line I think.. Would help if our qb could read the whole field before getting happy feet.... Injuries are always the wild card for everyone... I've not given up on Our Ducks..

Right now, nobody knows what kind of team we've actually got. So, yeah... #20 seems about right to me.

We're an UNDERDOG? AP Poll Says USC is No. 12, to Face No. 20 Oregon....
Well, the people who vote in the polls are not as invested in the Oregon Ducks, as we on this Forum are. Some may have actially watched the game in Stillwater. Others watched high lights (low lights), while others just heard the scpre and voted accordingly. It was a true let down and the Ducks embarrased themselves. Consider that those same pollsters were high on the Ducks enough to rank them #2. They gave the Ducks all the respect they had coming and then the Ducks let them down. The Ducks will have to earn the respect and trust of the voters again. Beating the trojans is a great first step. At this point the Trojans are over valued and the Ducks are hard to trust. SC is a different team at home than they are on the road. For this die hard Duck grey beard it boils down to these points..... Will the Ducks Defense rise to the occasion? Will SC convert on 3rd and long, 4th and short? Can the Duck D hold the Trojans to under 35 points? I won't use the PSU game as a barometer or measuring stick. The Ducks gave up 66 points in their first 2 games. 33 points per came! SC is capable of lighting up the scoreboard. They have scored 172 points in 4 games or 43 points per game. The Trojans have all the tools and talent to exploit the Ducks weak points on Defense. Can the front seven get to or pressure the SC QB? They did not against BSU or OSU? Can the Ducks make 2 or 3 stops and get the ball back to the O? From a betting line breakdown or a voters perspective and for this Duck fan, the Duck D has not proved they can get off the field. Or to not make a dumb mistake or get a penalty and give our opponent new life. Thats what my eyes tell me. So let's say SC puts up 43 points, do you trust Dante and the offense to score 44 points on the road? In all 3 games, Dante has not throwm to wide open receivers for big gains or TD's. The Ducks, at this point, are not a great team. Just a really good team with potential for greatness. Really good teams cannot afford to leave points off the board against any opponent. I believe if the Ducks play clean, smash mouth, inspired football that they will win this game 52-49. The betting line should be Ducks -2.5. Of course, I am voting with my heart not what I have seen. Go Ducks! All your goals are out in front of you...

Dylan Raiola: Are You Thinking What I'm Thinking?
I felt a Farve/Nix vibe when DR was out there. Just a tough kid out there playing ball. With DM I get a vibe of fragility. DM comes across as psychologically fragile. I don't know how you fix that as a coach. I could be wrong, just the vibes I get

We're an UNDERDOG? AP Poll Says USC is No. 12, to Face No. 20 Oregon....
I said it earlier, Ducks beat BSU by 7 and drop 4 slots before stillwater happened. SC beats a trash Rutgers by 7 and don't drop at all. I don't get it. Seems the CFB powers are itching to penalize Oregon every year. Frustrating. Let go Ducks. Punish next and force the cfb to respond.

I still don't know how much information we have on how big of an OC issue we have. Ducks executed well... DM didn't see receivers on some plays. Not sure how an OC fixes that problem. I have some other thoughts that are in a bigger article tomorrow. It's in edit mode right now.

Use it as fuel Dan! No one believes in the Ducks and that means they have to prove it every single play. Crush the Trojans! And then keep on going.

DR is our QB for NEXT season. His performance Friday night was impressive. He throws a very catchable ball, with a quick release, and his accuracy is impressive. Before we get too excited … let’s not forget he was going against Portland State in a game the Ducks won 84-0. DM is our QB, but it’s comforting to know that we have a very capable backup.

It's great. Another notch for Lanning and coulda-shoulda-woulda for Riley

USC moved up to No. 12 in the nation? I understand how we got penalized, rightly so, for Oregon's embarrassment in Stillwater....but it is still hard to wrap my mind around the Ducks being that far below the Trojans in the AP Poll. How bizarre does this feel to you? Not something we would have predicted!

So far this season DM has not played like an elite QB. I have had the sense that DM is in the “don’t mess this up mode”, versus the try to stop this passing play mode. Personally, I think it is a combination of an OC issue, and DM issue that needs to be fixed immediately.

Oregon - USC Pre-Game Reports, Interviews, etc.
🤔Hmm, all depends on which site you are reading from. Favorite (FanDuel) or underdog (DraftKings)? Oregon flips from favorite to underdog ahead of road matchup at USCThe betting line for Oregon's road matchup at USC has flipped, with the Ducks entering the week as slight underdogs to the unbeaten Trojans. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/oregon-flips-from-favorite-to-underdog-ahead-of-road-matchup-at-usc-290231167/ Oregon Ducks open as road favorites vs. USC Trojans https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/09/20/oregon-football-usc-trojans-betting-preview/91858477007/ So, you can bet Ducks +1 1/2 and Trojans + 2 1/2 and if the Ducks win by 1 or 2, you hit both.

Ohio State: Hail Mary Up 28 to 0
The financials are too important to most FCS schools to stay afloat. If the FCS can get more televised games that might help. But the reality is that the only way tv can is if they play on a day that isn't Saturday or Sunday. Not many have interest to tune into a FCS game in the season when there are bigger FBS or NFL brands at play. FCS desperately need the money and these paid wompings don't just pay for their football programs but a large portion of their athletic budgets.

Marsh Duck - Quick Quack: Oregon vs PSU
He looks better with one hand right now than most of the others with two.

Marsh Duck - Quick Quack: Oregon vs PSU
Get his hand out of the club for starters. The second string line looked pretty good. They are clearly hungry for their chance.

Marsh Duck - Quick Quack: Oregon vs PSU
This might not mean much, but Matayo was in a class with a family member last Spring, they went around the room asking about their major and he was undeclared. My only comment is about commitment. He lacks something or is not that good to start with. Just an observation.

Who stepped up for the Ducks. Headline is misleading as there were no stock downs. Oregon football stock report after Week 3: Stock up, stock down SI thinks four Ducks saw stock drop. Only two not counting injured Johnson and McClellan. Eight Oregon Ducks Rising and Falling After Historic Win Over Portland State

Ohio State: Hail Mary Up 28 to 0
I have no problem with teams executing until the final whistle. In fact, I would make the argument that none of Oregon’s backup QBs (and many other positions) were ready to play under Chip for this exact reason. Oregon would get to a point where they were comfortable, bring in the second string, but not run real offense. The result is that the players didn’t get “real” game snaps. I think the sportsmanship piece comes into play when you have the game won and you are still playing the starters. But if you pull everyone and the other team can’t stop your 4th sting QB and 5th string RB, then that’s on them. You owe it to your backups to get some real game experience under those circumstances. In this case, I have zero issue with the Hail Mary. There is an entire half of football left and you are only up 4 scores. Plus, as the OP stated, it is a great opportunity to practice a rare play. My other opinion in all of this is that a Power 4 team should never play an FCS school, but that is a whole other argument.
