My add...if Stubblefield had been immediately named permanent head coach, the 15-day portal start would have been accelerated to 5 days after the announcement....i.e. 5 days from Oct. 7. It would have started Oct. 12 instead of Nov. 7. The interim tag gives the program more time to communicate with players about staying, though I suppose it also gives more competitor programs time to talk quietly with agents until the portal starts.

If the Big Championship game continues, and it continues fixed in Indianapolis, that seems it would benefit the East division.

for the proposed West and East - not sure there would be anything comparable to Purdue, Rutgers and Maryland (East) as 3 annual in-division games in the West Most have 2 protected games though don't remember all the alignment details. Iowa has 3 but all 3 would be in the same West division. I believe Illinois vs Northwestern is a protected rivalry. That may be the only one which would cross divisions for a scheduling issue.

"...getting a half-share of B1G revenue does not help..." Oregon currently receives about two-thirds of a full-share of all distributions. While UW and UO did start out at half-shares of the media portion of revenue they both receive full shares of other revenue such as CFP, NCAA Tournament, sponsorships, etc. The half-share of media portion goes through 2030, though it is also increasing modestly each year until the full jump in 2031. Though, 2031 will be under a new media contract. Most believe 2031 will at least equal the last year of the old media deal in 2030, but many B1G schools may be subject to the Big Ten re-evaluating distributions - such as providing Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State higher shares than Purdue, Minnesota.... Thus, a full share in 2031 may not be 100% of what OSU receives. How an individual school prioritizes that revenue with-in their programs will vary.

In the Fall academic schedule classes begin September 28 in 2026. So....this would be the first home game with students on campus? How have those seats been filled for the two earlier home games? Sold to general public?

It's not just being in the CFP 12. If you are in the CFP you want to be No. 8 or higher and for teams wanting to be 5-8 the beauty contests are relevant especially if there are already a couple B1G teams above you.

"Oregon would be better off with USC winning" USC still has Penn St, Wisconsin, Ohio St, Indiana and UCLA UW still has Iowa, Purdue, Nebraska, Michigan St If USC loses more of those games than UW does, then we should want UW to get this win? The worst outcome would be both have 3-3 record – we need somebody we beat to be unquestionably good.

Now, 24-18 in third Q. I imagine Tosh had some "colorful" language in the half-time lockerroom. Ohio State 31-14 at Iowa in fourth. Dominant as the score. Mizzou 45-10 vs Florida in fourth. To me, it just re-emphasizes my point that winning a lot of games in Mt.West/NewPac is fan preferable to getting your butt beat weekly in the Old Pac. W's bring a lot of pride they couldn't have in the Old Pac.

Unbelievable end to No. 1 Montana State at 0-4 Idaho. Another clock keeper's dream game. Clock probably should have run out, but officials kept 1 second on the clock, and Idaho completed a 25 yd pass with 1 sec. to start the play, then a 2-pt conversion to win it 35-34. Idaho went 80 yds in 49 secs. Idaho now 1-4 this season, first win over a No. 1 team. Montana State is defending FCS Champion. Montana State now 5-1, 19-game win streak comes to an end.

If Oregon hired him, would that appear as an endorsement of how he handled the situation last Saturday? If so, then I would say no and keep the Evil Empire image on USC with or without him there. $70 million is a lot of bucks. I don't think USC has that kind of scratch? Though, if he went to a college job that kiss on the tarmac might make it easier to pay him as an assistant? Who replaces him at USC? BYU's Sitake? Keep in mind wishing his demise at USC means potentially somebody more competent replaces him. Now if you could guarantee his USC replacement would be Jimmy Lake or Keith Gilbertson, I could get comfortable with it. Otherwise let USC enter the drama zone for a couple seasons.

A Toejam's loss may help recruiting. Maybe. From a practical standpoint, once your team beats an opponent you want to them to win as many games as possible to boost your own SOS. So, which is most likely to have more losses between now and December? Another loss this Saturday added to more losses later doesn't really affect your SOS. Because that opponent no longer helps you. The best scenario would be for whomever wins this Saturday to go undefeated (except Ducks beating UW later). Second best would be for whomever loses to also go undefeated. But, if one is going to lose more games later it is better that they also lose this Saturday?

In this era, a lost recruiting battle doesn't mean a lost recruit. A year or two later they may be requesting an opportunity to be part of your program. So, I still think putting energy and class into recruiting is vital even if you lose someone on their high school senior signing day.

In the last 10 matchups with USC: 8-2 - Oregon 8-2 - Notre Dame I wonder if any other program comes close to that in the last 10? Maybe that's why SC was babbling about keeping the ND series? And, I think this is accurate for current consecutive series: 0-5 vs Oregon 0-3 vs UW - (USC is favored this Saturday) 0-4 vs Utah and 0-3 vs Notre Dame

Since 2020 Missouri is 8-20 against ranked teams. They have been ranked themselves in 31 of the last 39 polls. They are No. 25 in this week's AP poll. 2020: 5-7 2021: 6-7 2022: 6-7 2023: 11-2 2024: 10-3 2025: 8-5 2026: 3-1 Would they have the advantage of SEC bias for ranking in the ACC or Big12, or Big Ten?

Oklahoma State won at West Virginia today, and the Cowboys are now 3-1 and except for the Tulsa opener have piled up a lot of yards on offense (just as they did when the roster played for North Texas - 20 players transferred from N. Texas including QB) On another note, I did watch just a bit of UCLA's win today. They were showing some inventive mis-direction plays on offense and will be tough for opposing defenses.
