  3. Pretty good article from last fall, written by an actual reporter with knowledge of the subject. I'm not familiar with the Oregon Accelerator program mentioned near the end. Phil Knight And Former Nike Execs Launch Oregon-Focused NIL Company WWW.FORBES.COM Phil Knight, along with other Oregon alums and donors, are starting a new NIL company focused on Oregon student athletes. Sabrina Ionescu will serve as Chief Athlete Officer.
  4. Oops. For some reason I always mentally link Providence and Villanova together after both visited McArthur Court to play the Kamakazi Kids in 1974-5.
  5. Hmmm, do I visit my brother in Portland for Thanksgiving...?
  6. It certainly seemed to work for Jay Wright and Villanova on the men's side. Plus the Friars were enjoyable to watch.
  7. This is what I'm happy to see, reliance on player development rather than a revolving door. Kelly Graves happy with smaller roster, explains how he's decided to utilize transfer portal 247SPORTS.COM Kelly Graves happy with smaller roster, explains how he's decided to utilize transfer portal
  8. I believe Rob Mullens had no other choice but to let Mike While leave. Too expensive to keep him. Oregon started planning for a new softball stadium in 2013 which eventually came in at over $16 million. In 2014 White got a new contract then renegotiated an additional 15% raise plus an increased staff budget the following year after flirting with Arkansas. When Texas came calling they were willing to double his Oregon salary. Oregon wisely let him go. Mullens is smart and fiscally prudent which is why the Oregon athletic department is basically self sufficient. Coaching salaries for 18 varsity sports are a huge expense and must be managed wisely.
  9. Free visit to see a friend. From a different ON3 piece Arkansas State (June 6-8): “Arkansas State coaches have been good to me since the jump, treating me like family,” Proctor said. “ I also wanted to take an official to them to go down and see my guy Jaxon, one of my HS teammates, and have fun on these five opportunities that I am given.”
  10. The new era of college sports. Unfortunately I'm old school and I feel my interest waning.
  11. I'm not a golfer, don't regularly follow the sport in college, and wrongly assumed scoring was similar to the PGA. Ha! When I read the O-Live article (https://www.oregonlive.com/ducks/2022/05/oregon-womens-golf-defeats-san-jose-state-to-face-texas-am-in-ncaa-championship-semifinals.html) I frankly didn't understand the scoring at all. Searching the internet machine I found the following. Perhaps it will help others in the same situation. How the NCAA men’s and women’s golf championships work WWW.NCAA.COM Here’s a closer look at the format of the NCAA golf championships, how match-play competition works and how it differs from stroke play.

  15. Does my "I am a deranged idiot" button purchased outside Hec Edmundson Pavilion count?
  16. Interesting quote from the OregonLive article “The biggest factors with my decision are development, culture, and the relationships I have with the university. I’ve grown up in the Pacific Northwest most of my life, and have dreamed of playing there since I was a kid. With that being said, I am flipping my commitment to the University of Oregon. Sco Ducks.” Ashton Cozart, 4-star receiver, flips commitment from Oklahoma to Oregon Ducks WWW.OREGONLIVE.COM Ashton Cozart, a four-star receiver who visited UO this weekend, announced his commitment to the Ducks on Sunday. He had been committed to the Sooners since Feb. 4.
  17. Both Washington and Texas are looking for their first run going into the fifth. Gotta pull for the PNW and the Pac over Texas and the SEC.
  18. News came out that Addison could be getting in the $3 million range to transfer to USC, through name, image and likeness deals. DKPITTSBURGHSPORTS.COM
  19. 10.74 100 meter time as a high school sophomore, 4.45 40, plays in Texas. 34 offers including Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. Louisville and Michigan offered within the last 30 days. A kid with enough talent for Nick Sabin, Billy Napier, Mike Norvell, Lane Kiffin and Mike Leach is good enough for me.
  20. Ducks Fall to Arkansas in NCAA Regional - University of Oregon Athletics GODUCKS.COM Oregon will face either Wichita State or Princeton in an elimination game late Saturday night.
  21. Not necessary, USC is stacked on the O-line. Best in college football.
  22. The lady doth protest too much, methinks ESPN CFB writer shatters rumors that Jordan Addison picked USC football for NIL money REIGNOFTROY.COM Even before USC football had brought Jordan Addison in via the transfer portal, college football fans and analysts cried and complained that the Trojans were on
