16 hours ago16 hr Administrator No. Let's start the after-game discussion, as I am now going to watch the entire game over again! We have had QUITE an uptick of points being scored since Coach/Analyst/OC Interim Johnson took over.... Mr. OBD

16 hours ago16 hr No. Did Oregon make in game adjustments on both sides of the ball?I will continue to pick us to lose 38-13 every week 😏😉
16 hours ago16 hr No. Speechless. Imagine what we would all feel like participating with UCLA in the Big Ten Championship game....in Indianapolis.
16 hours ago16 hr No. Ducks are behind the 8 ball right now. But they played outstanding. They look like they have fixed the issues mostly. If somehow they get to the post season, skies the limit. This is fun again

16 hours ago16 hr Moderator No. SWEET! Rosebowl payback is best served in Columbus!A Win over the Ohio State university and blowing Brutus out of the playoffs.😁😍😎👌👍❤️I'm so glad that I never doubted JJ! (🤔)One of the B1Ggest brands down; next up, the winningest football program in the history of the game.Waste the Wolverines!
16 hours ago16 hr No. I missed the entire game due to work, but what a shock 😲. Not the win, but the score. I was not expecting such a lopsided victory. Don't think any of us were. Let's hope we continue to see improvement and continuity from our boys. Great win, OBD!
16 hours ago16 hr Author Administrator No. So we've scored 34 and 41 points a game since Johnson took over as OC... Mr. OBD
16 hours ago16 hr No. Just now, Charles Fischer said:So we've scored 34 and 41 points a game since Johnson took over as OC...And ran proper screen plays. Ones that actually work
16 hours ago16 hr No. When we went ahead 17-14 I was going to celebrate with a Duck Fart, I decided to wait until the end of the game. I only had one shot of Kaluha. Glad I saved it. It was sweet.
16 hours ago16 hr No. Well that was unexpected, and painfully slow developing. But wow! DL's best motivation job yet?
16 hours ago16 hr No. Jay Johnson is doing an excellent job to be honest. Not perfect, but very good. If he had the luxury of a Bo Nix or Dante Moore on-field coach to audible out of some bad looks, it may have been close to perfect after the 1st quarter. That being said, I don't trust him with his record. He can earn himself an OC job again somewhere else. The nationwide search should continue.
16 hours ago16 hr No. 25 minutes ago, Charles Fischer said:So we've scored 34 and 41 points a game since Johnson took over as OC...With Raiola no less.
15 hours ago15 hr No. JJ has exceeded expectations so far. It shows how terrible coach Meh is. But I wouldn't go so far as making him the OC yet, until we win out and make a deep run into the PO with a decent offense. Short of that, we should still do a proper search.
15 hours ago15 hr Moderator No. After consulting Mr. A. I., I believe an all-time college football record was set today when a defensive end completed a pass to another defensive end on a perfectly executed fake punt.FIRST DOWN! I could watch that play all Day, just Sayin. 😍
15 hours ago15 hr Moderator No. Well, Dana Holgorson is available, and he coached Dylan Raiola at Nebraska. On second thought. 🤮Fire JJ? No 🤬🤬🤬Way!
15 hours ago15 hr No. I don’t know. He has done a great job and should be considered but not anointed.
15 hours ago15 hr No. To answer this question... No, Jay Johnson should not be the OC next season. However, maybe he becomes our full time QB coach... but maybe not depending. Hell maybe he even gets a Co-OC title. But we need new ideas in the program. Expirence has once again shown how it plays out on the field. He stayed calm and kept at it and things broke open. First quarter kinda sucked ... The slow starts aren't great but this defense can step up and cover when it needs to and the offense can build a lead and let the defense breathe. I kinda feel like we were playing Mike Leach again at the end of the fourth with Day trying his darnest to make a game out of it.
15 hours ago15 hr No. No, the OC position at Oregon demands a serious search. Two games is way too small a sampling to draw any conclusions beyond JJ being better than Mehringer. JJ can be a part of that search, and he's got the rest of the season to boost his resume.
15 hours ago15 hr No. FWIW, I think it should be JJ’s job to lose. If he beeps performing at the level he is performing at, why would anyone want to replace him?Whoever called the 44 to 10 fake punt is a freaking genius! That had to be the play of the game! It certainly changed the momentum of November 7 in the Shoe!
14 hours ago14 hr No. Well he's probably earned a promotion and a raise, whatever that may entail. As far as the OC job, he deserves an interview but I'm guessing DL brings in someone else. Also not to be Captain Obvious but this is a two game sample size. We'll know more at the end of the season.
14 hours ago14 hr No. Charles, keep the play calling for rest of the year.Use the after season to make long term decision.Definitely need a qualified (previous QB) QB coach.Johnson looks the best he has ever done at play calling in his career.Knock on wood. For next year, make a sure hire...... unless he earns it (and wants it)
14 hours ago14 hr No. Johnsonvis using someone else's playbook, but managing it more effectively. Let's see where things play out from here.If these guys come anywhere close to an NC, give him a raise and convert to an analyst's title.

That's 5,457 days.Hey, Brutus, Duck here to remind you that Oregon's 2nd-string QB (at least for today 😎) is better than your 2nd-stringer! Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah!🙃Quack, Quack! With the always reasonable Buckeyes fans on the scene, Ryan Day might be available. 🤪
13 hours ago13 hr No. JJ should be an option during the search. That is it. These games he is calling are a working interview. But I would not automatically disqualify him.He is certainly helping his career and for that I am happy for him. Wild thought: if Ducks make playoffs and Ducks advance in playoffs... Does Dante come back to play a championship game?By then, he might be OK to do it.
13 hours ago13 hr No. Regardless of Jay's future with the Ducks he needs to be getting PAID for these winning games. Like $100k+ each game.
12 hours ago12 hr Moderator No. Assuming the offense continues to stabilize and improve over the rest of the season, I think his name should be in the hat for consideration. But make no mistake, if DL doesn't perform a proper search for an OC there won't be a ton of patience by fans. If JJ's results are that compelling by the time interviews start then he could get the gig but only after it's compared with a handful of other top end candidates.
7 hours ago7 hr Moderator No. What have you done for us lately? 🤬 Maybe the Day is coming when Ryan will be an OC candidate. 😁Larry Brown SportsOhio State fans are all saying the same thing about Ryan DayThe Ohio State Buckeyes' season appears to be spiraling down the drain, and the knives are once again out for head coach Ryan Day. The Buckeyes were blown
2 hours ago2 hr No. I just witnessed JJ rip apart a 2 time superbowl champion DC.. put some respect on JJ name. Lets go back to one sequence that set up a future TD by Oregon. JJ on a goal line play purposely shifted Raiola out to WR hoping to get Ohio St to call timeout due to the formation. Their last of the quarter.. then comes back to the funky formation where Ohio St needed to call timeout and couldn't. Jamari runs up the middle for a TD.
2 hours ago2 hr Moderator No. JJ has been great as an unexpected surprise. I think he has also benefitted from the O line maturing as a group and settle in to finally provide some protection. That's allowed the passing game to finally be able to go down field and get the ball to our dangerous playmakers.I'm loving the ride we have been taking on the last couple games. When the season is over, they still need to go out and bring in an A tier OC. I'd be down with keeping JJ on staff in whatever capacity that keeps another adult in the room.
1 hour ago1 hr No. Thankfully the fans don't make any of these coaching decision hires.Fan decisions are born from fanatics, driven with passion, who turn off the game when their team gets behind or has a turnover.Or leave the game early when their team appears to be to far behind. When the weather isn't fair the fair weather fans jump off the band wagon.Oregon and tOSU have their fair share of these fans. NegaDucks and NegaBucks where are you today? But that's okay, we all handle being a fan in our own way. Even if its spur of the moment and knee-jerked.In 7 plus seasons Ryan Day is 88-15. Dan Lanning in 5 plus seasons is 54-11. (My fair weather Duck friends and some on this forum were wanting DL fired after the Illinous game.) I ask any fan to pick better replacements for these successful coaches. Such nonsense, click bait articles. As for Jay Johnson as the Ducks permanent OC. I will trust DL. HIs record speaks for itself. In the last 2 1/2games the Duck Oline has jelled. They are pulling and blocking downfield for big gains. Watch the game again and just watch the lineman.Pass blocking has improved. DR has time to find the open receiver. Or get the ball out quickly. No sacks or INT's the last 2 games. Not that DR hasn't tried to throw a few.JJ has called a game plan that DR has more confidence in. The quick out for 5 to 8 yards puts the Duck O In 2nd and short. Now the entire playbook and field is wide open.DM and ES are impossible to defend on those plays. When NW or tOSU committed to stopping those outs with coverage then Jamari is wide open.If DR and Jamari had been in better sync, OBD's might have put 50 points plus on tOSU.All the credit goes to the Oline and line coach for working so hard to improve each week. And Jay for calling 2 straight successful games.OBD's has the potential to win out and be that one team that no one wants to face in the CFP. As soon as the committee recognizes this they will do their best to stack 3 loss SEC teams ahead of OBD's, USC and even Iowa. This Duck honk would love a rematch in Indy against the Bruins. GO USC, beat IU?Go Ducks! Take care of the up coming Michigan state championship series.
43 minutes ago43 min No. No. While he's done a nice job and deserves a shot as OC of a less prestigious school if he wants it, Coach Lanning needs to hire an experienced and can't miss OC. Oregon will open the checkbook after the season.
41 minutes ago41 min No. 1 hour ago, HappyToBeADuck said:As for Jay Johnson as the Ducks permanent OC. I will trust DL. The AD and major boosters will likely have a say in the hire.
16 minutes ago16 min Moderator No. This team has a top 5 roster so coaches just getting out of the way should get them top 10 results which is now what we're seeing on offense. Good coaches should get them better than top 5 results. Great coaches should have them in the championship conversation. I say let's go for that.
