  3. Oklahoma State falls to Tulsa, will face Oregon nextOregon's Week 2 opponent, the Oklahoma State Cowboys, didn't have an easy go of it either in Week 1 — but the difference is that while they fell behind early, they never found a way to come back, losing 24-10 to the Tulsa Golden Hurricane on the road. Not only are the Golden Hurricane a Group of Six team in the American Athletic Conference (AAC), but they reside in Oklahoma and are considered the "little brother" to the Cowboys and Oklahoma Sooners. https://duckswire.usatoday.com/story/sports/college/ducks/football/2026/09/06/oregon-football-week-2-opponent-oklahoma-state-falls-tulsa/91643155007/

The Oregon Ducks are more than a 3-touchdown favorite at Oklahoma StateThe Ducks have turned their attention now to week two of the 2026 college football season and they travel to Oklahoma State this coming weekend as a massive favorite. https://247sports.com/college/oregon/article/the-oregon-ducks-are-more-than-a-3-touchdown-favorite-at-oklahoma-state-289598415/
  6. Approximately 76.7% of the United States population lives in the eastern and central time zones. That works out to about 3/4 of approximately 340,000,000 people. That is lot of potential viewing eyeballs. Businesses pay top dollar to advertise their products/services to reach the target audience. Networks need to show numbers to get top dollar. To the fan, does the start time really matter? Avid college football fans on the west coast watch Game Day at 6 am Pacific. And that show is a shell of what it once was. My youngest son played college ball from 2001 thru 2003 at a west coast school with a horrible program. I asked him how he and his team mates felt about 9 am starts in Alabama, Louisiana and Texas? Dad we are getting to play football, stay in fabulous hotels and have fun. Then we pick up 3 hours of time flying home, which gives us more time to do what is really important. I asked before I thought it thru; What is truly important son? Hanging out with girls, Dad! DUH..... For this Duck grey beard, a 9 am Duck game means i happily do my wifes honey do list Friday. For me it is Duck football. Anytime, any place, anywhere. It is must watch TV. For a sporting event this game has very little appeal to viewers outside of Oregon, Oklahoma and Lincoln Riley. Go Ducks.......

Oregon Ducks On SIDante Moore’s Heisman Trophy Odds Take Surprising Turn Af...The Heisman Trophy race did not waste any time getting complicated. 9. You can blame The Mouse. They base everything off of Eastern Time. ESPN is carrying the game so they put it in their 12:00 ET window. Disney merged ESPN and ABC Sport into one division and since ESPN produces sports on ABC they didn’t want it to overlap with Bama/UK at 3:30 ET or Texas/Ohio State at 7:30 ET. They consider the 3:30 and 7:30 windows as their prime slots, so they schedule their best matchups there. They did schedule the A&M game at noon on ABC, so they (and ASU) also get an early start in College Station. I guess they don’t mind the overlap in the noon window because it’s not prime viewing time.
  10. There were indeed better in the second half. But the fact Meringer was displaying the same tendencies to get cute like Will Stein did throughout his tenure in Eugene is concerning to me. Those sorts of plays consistently were broken up by elite teams and I wish OBD would go away from them.
  11. Speaking of . . . bummer that Charles' winners check was only good if you claimed you win within 5 seconds of it being posted. Thanks for playing.
  12. The optics on this are just so poor. especially given that Western Michigan pretty much dominated the game and clearly looked to be the better team on this day-and in a hostile environment at that. Hail to the victors...NOT!
  13. I'm guessing that this subject has been discussed at length, but does anyone know who the braintrust is who schedules these start times... and why a consistently Top-10 team tolerates it?
  14. That is one of the more spectacular screw jobs I have seen in quite some time.
  15. This guy is one dumb son of biscuit. "The same Boise State that two years ago arrived in Eugene for the season opener..." -- and he basically said that we sucked in that game. For some reason, this schmuck forgot to mention that BSU ended the 2024 season ranked #8 in the nation. Bottom-line is that I won't be remotely surprised if BSU ends up in the Top 10 again by the end of the season.
  16. Probably sorted out against BSU on the field in reality. But the other side of things too comes down to how else Michigan performs. If Michigan is good, they'll look at that loss and ignore it due to the ref interference. If Michigan is awful then they still ignore the loss but it was a close game against a bad P2 team. Either way I think everyone of substance ignores that loss and counts it as a win for them but the context of what Michigan is will depend if that helps or hurts them.
  17. Both have been coordinators before coming to Oregon and both we Co-coordinators previous years. Play calling needed fine tuning and it got better over the game. Offense needs to just line up and punch a lesser roster in the mouth, the offense was vanilla outside of the questionable 4th down calls and the double pass that almost worked. I think a portion of the offensive frustration were the underneath passes but frankly BSU liked to pressure at the LoS... The vertical game they didn't have much of an answer for besides PI and hoping for a misthrown ball. Defense felt less like a play calling issue and more of playing undisciplined. Coaches will be hammering this into the heads of these players for the rest of the season. Two touchdown were the result of Oregon penalties that kept the BSU offense on the field. That's still coaching but not play calling. I hope we'll see a cleaner game out of the Ducks and better play calling in the next two games.
  18. "....Memphis at Boise State could decide the G6 representative..." Here's something to contemplate: We all know W. Michigan lost at Michigan yesterday (or, perhaps they didn't) but assume they go undefeated the rest of the season. They are the defending champions in the MAC from 2025. If the Playoff Committee looked at that potential single "loss" how would they rank them as G6 rep in comparison to others? Well, it turns out the Committee may be saved by the scheduling Gods. Because W. Michigan hosts Boise State in a non-conference game the last Saturday of September. It will be Broncos vs Broncos on Sep. 26.
  19. Wait what??? I finally won? YES!!! I didn't think to check until just now, but glad I did. Haha.
  20. The Wisconsin Badger Punter punted the ball 69 yards, it went over the head of the punt returner, bounced inside the 5 yard line near the center of the field turned 90 degrees then rolled all the way to the sideline out of bounds almost clipping the pylon. They panned back to the punter that for a celebration made a very serious looking golf swing. Perfection. I expect video clips to emerge shortly. If you find one please post it here for folks to see, it's a must watch video.

  22. ND, in many respects, I liked it better when you knew that refs would err and there was no replay. But, according to the rules and the look the replay officials had, there was .01 seconds left when a W. MI. player who was out of bounds touched the football. Any game time remaining under a second requires the clock to be set at one second. It's OK; I think Michigan will lose Sooner than later. 😁
  23. Interesting Week 2 game coming up when Memphis, with a road win over UNLV, plays Boise on the Blue Turf. This early game could decide the G6 PO representative. Before Minnesota visits Seattle in Week 4, UW should roll over Utah State and E. Washington. State 8 member Utah State lost its opening game to FCS Idaho State, 29-17. But the State 8 only took the very best from the Mountain West, right? ðŸĪŠ
