I'm beyond impressed, and frankly, a bit shocked at the exceptional play & leadership by Dylan. To step into the game in such an emotional and difficult situation, in such a high profile environment, and lead this team like he did, is truly amazing.

If our defense can continue to improve, and play like they did on the last couple of series, this could quickly turn into a damn good team.

I feel better. Some of this is coming to terms with what this Oregon team is. I just don't think it's a team that will be a championship contender. It may be a team that improves through the season, it may end up winning 10+ games, but I don't see a team that will be a major contender for the natty.

I could be totally wrong, maybe the O-line improves more than I think they will, Raiola might be "The" guy, the defense might lock it in, we obviously have talent.

I just think for myself, I have lowered my expectations, and I'm more focusing on things like how much this team improves, can I see the coordinators improve (Mehringer was much better tonight!), is the effort there, can this team become more disciplined and control the things that they can control (penalties, effort, technique, etc.)

I don't know if this is true for others, but I honestly think I've had more fun when I'm not worrying about things like championships, last two years I've been super critical about every little thing, tonight while I might have bellyached about some defensive things. I honestly had more fun watching tonight because I just wanted to win the game and play exciting football.

Our D needs to improve dramatically for us to contend for the B1G and go to CFP. But the O will be more than fine with Raiola!

The best part was that it was the first time in years that the Coliseum was sold out…evidence that SUC fans were gaining confidence that Riley is their guy, and they had an elite team…The Ducks gave them a reality check.

The way the players responded to Dante's injury, speaks well of coaches and team culture.

Was a good win. Raiola's composure was evident of experience. His passes could be a bit more decisive, less soft.

A long season, more growth needed.

When USC was lined up to come out of the tunnel their fans coaches and players were chanting "Overrated". They couldn't be bothered to cheer about themselves in that moment, being so focused on us, but in hindsight that's exactly what they were doing cheering about themselves.

The D will continue to improve.

If you told Dan before the game that the USC O in LA would be held to 27 points, I think he would have gladly taken it. The same number of points SC scored last season in Autzen.

Cardale Jones was drafted in the fourth round, the 139th player off the board. He also led 4-seed Ohio State to a victory over No. 1 seed Alabama in the Sugar Bowl.

48 players on the Buckeyes 2014 roster went on to the NFL. One of CFB's best rosters ever.

I was really impressed with Maiava (Until the last drive), he made some NFL caliber throws; tight windows where only his guy could catch it. Ducks held them to 14 pts under their average.

Now on the last drive, they looked lost. Like someone said, "they looked liked they had never practiced a 2 minute drill".

I feel better! I expected to win.. But sure feel better now seeing our improvement in second half. Go Ducks.

Get healthy during bye week and study film. I feel better also this morning knowing that Dante is ok and that Raiola is as good as hoped for.

Road wins by OK State and Boise State yesterday were great for Oregon's SOS.

Both teams could be and should be ranked. At least UCLA entered the Coaches' top 25.

When the final committee poll is released on 12/6, I think Oregon will be 2-1 vs. top-25 teams in its first four games; I don't think that Portland State will be ranked. 😁

I saw rumblings of being able to hold USC to 10 or 17. And I mean that earnestly. Lanning was more aggressive on defense yesterday. That is the first step. It is a matter of scheme now. And that what is going to separate teams at this point. Strategy and immediate adjustment. Not next year. NOW.

Lanning and company forced USC to pull out everything they have. That is a very good sign. Forcing teams to do things because they have to.

Teams will have to spread OBD out to control the ball. I saw inklings of solving that problem. But I am not sure Lanning will go full tilt and shut down efforts to set up a Grand Canyon of room on the football field. Finally, I don't think any team can run on OBD when they put five guys on the Line of Scrimmage. Hope Lanning took full note.

Not really. Our D will get killed by the best teams. But maybe if Raiola is in we can keep up with the scoring.

Of all the teams in college football......only Oregon probably had a former 5 star QB who was very experienced playing in the BIG, highly coveted, mobile and ready to play sitting on the bench.

Sincerely hope Dante gets well but IMHO if Lanning wants to actually win it all this year his greatest chance is with Dylan. If he puts Dante back in after protocol.....I'd be disappointed.

Cardele “we ain’t come here to play SCHOOL” Jones was tOSU’s 3rd string QB when they beat Helfrich and Mariota’s team in the first CFP championship game in the 14/15 season.

I remember feeling totally out-classed by the depth of Meyer’s tOSU.

OBD had lost our 2 top receivers (Cunningham, Allen) our top running back (Freeman), and cornerback (Ekpre-Olomu) between the semi-final and the final. And it showed.

tOSU lost Miller and Daniels and still crushed us with Jones and Elliot.

They also mysteriously lost an early game to an unranked VA Tech.

Maybe OBD finally have the depth we need to go all the way?
