With Bob Chesney's 2026 UCLA, I prefer the Origin of Thump! These Bruins will smash-mouth you for 60 minutes. Trench play and tackling will decide this game. It's not the greatest team with the greatest offense, but going on the road and holding better-than-average QB Washington and Maryland to 3 points was impressive. And I will add that, unfortunately 😉, I do know several USC fans, and they are excellent fans and good people. I've spoken or texted with three of them since Saturday and they are sickened and absolutely disgusted by the behavior of their program. While they were already unimpressed Riley before Saturday, and were pretty much already wanting him fired, after what happened Saturday night, they were livid... genuinely livid. While these guys don't have uber-wealthy kind of money, they all do quite well and they all would make a special donation toward Riley's $70 million dollar buyout. Although USC, obviously, completely sucks, I would bet that after Saturday, a significant percentage of their fans feel the same way. Riley might be wise to avoid airport tarmacs, as he may soon find himself getting the "Kiffin Maneuver."

Not this season's SAG. He looked lost against Clemson and is in a sophomore slump under new OC Jordan Summerville, a former grad assistant at Oregon. The 30-year-old Summerville was the Tampa Bay QB coach and a strange hire by Tosh. He was brought in to teach SAG NFL quarterbacking. WHY?

5 years to play 5. Under the five year eligibility rule, there are no more redshirt seasons. Post-2026, Dante has another season of eligibility remaining, and Raiola is eligible in 2027 and 2028. With revenue-sharing and NIL, I expect many players will play college 'semipro' sports and delay going pro.

Most emotionally charged DvT yet. As always, very well produced and edited, even if it tugs at the homer heartstrings a bit. One damning aspect is the obfuscation on the part of the U$C announcers as they victim blame Dante for not really sliding feet first then absolve the defender of targeting. This is followed by a, shall we say, less than flattering image of an older Trojan fan repeatedly shouting "f/u" at the refs and Oregon bench once the targeting call was confirmed. All fan bases have their toxic components and Oregon is no exception. But, wow, this is Roman gladiator crowd stuff. How apt that the venue was the Coliseum. It sheds a bad light on Riley, the SC leadership and their fans. All the more reason to appreciate the team that OBD is and the coach that we have. Full recovery for Dante Moore!

A USC fan registered to join this forum, but not for the usual reasons I see from opposing fans. He wanted to apologize for what happened to Dante Moore, and wished for a full and speedy recovery for him. I wanted to give him credit, (Andrew Reed) and convey his great sportsmanship, but I am not opening the door for what could end up being a ton more moderating work. My thanks to him for his well-wishes, and it reminds us that not all fans are the same. At all schools you have terrible fans, and great ones. I thank him for his intent, and hopefully this can inspire more goodwill on both sides.

I didn't initially see that while watching the game. Talk about the poorest sportsmanship that we've ever seen... If Riley had any leadership qualities, he would've kicked him off the team as an example for everyone else.

In the game there were 2 other roughing/targeting the QB hits. There was at least 1 blatant late hit out of bounds. There were many chippy hits, slaps and chirping. I think USC was encouraged to try and play "tough". Without any real mature direction from coaching staff, the play escalated out of control quick. Coaches need to be held accountable too.

Great article David thank you. I am one who wonders if Dante will get his job back. To is hard to argue with what DR brigs to the table. That said, did it feel to anyone else the the Ducks just wore USuC down in the 4th quarter? It felt to me like Oregon had their way pushing the Trojans around on both sites of the ball in the last 10 minutes or so.

Considering it's PP, that's a significant departure from past behavior.
