Saturday at 09:22 PM2 days Administrator No. He was 11-11 with three TD passes in a limited appearance....and looked VERY accurate. More accurate than Moore?Again...there were at least two plays where Dante Moore was throwing to the short field receiver without pressure, while WRs were getting open downfield for big potential gains or touchdowns. Is that Moore's lack of vision, or what he is being told to do? I do not know...With all the receivers open downfield and ignored vs. Oklahoma State....I cannot help but wonder if we would have won that game if Raiola was at QB?Now, I am not asserting that Raiola should replace Moore; Dante has earned his spot, and the damage to him and Oregon would be significant. But if he gets hurt, and when we consider next year--we look good with Raiola. Mr. OBD
Saturday at 09:39 PM2 days No. I thought Raiola looked like a football player last night. He was slinging it and making plays. Scoring td. Love the side arm.
Saturday at 11:39 PM2 days No. Raiola is also much more mobile than Dante Moore, which would be a big help with this year's offensive line. By no means am I hoping for it, but It would be very interesting to see what Coach Lanning would do, if the Ducks were down big at halftime against USC.
Sunday at 12:23 AM2 days No. Moore throws a nicer deep ball still. Both looked in command of the huddle which is a good thing. But I have a feeling that Raiola might have more of the "it" factor. He just has better vision from the short sample size we got.
Sunday at 12:37 AM2 days No. He looked like he might be more athletic, and I think that's something that we could really use with the struggles we have with the O-line. Everyone though needs to slow down since it was against a team that might have it's hands full against the best high school teams in Texas or Florida.

Not sure what you mean by "everyone needs to slow down". Also there are still things you can see growth on regardless of opponent. We are just trying to build up some sunshine after getting beat last week.

But... DM didn't see some open receivers yet again and doesn't have the patience to let plays develop. Raiola showed he can go through progressions and let a play develop. Granted... He had loads of time to do that against PSU but he also DID IT!
Sunday at 02:28 AM2 days No. I think I saw what y'all saw.He just might be the better qb for us... Maybe more poise and It factorIm no expert, not advocating anything and realize Donte is our qb.
Sunday at 03:36 AM2 days No. Was never really impressed with the bits and pieces I saw of him at Nebraska. He looked good last night. 11-11? I feel like I owe him an apology.

I did not watch him play at all at Nebraska, and when he was announced as transferring to Oregon… I was very “Meh,” about it.But I saw the very accurate poised quarterback on Saturday… Mr. OBD
Sunday at 04:20 AM1 day No. He’s accurate and not afraid to throw into tight windows and throw receivers open. IMO, you have a higher probability of explosive plays with him in the game, but maybe also a higher risk of turnovers.Good news that they have their QB for next season. Sunday at 05:08 AM1 day No. Could part of the poise be related to the brutal pressure of playing at Nebraska?
Sunday at 12:31 PM1 day No. Depends on if you want to win.......if you want to be nice guys Dante will start.......if you want to win Dylan should be given his chance if the Ducks don't move it against USC by half time. If Rutgers can hang 35 on them......at the half we should have 24.
Sunday at 02:25 PM1 day No. The Wall Street Journal reported this morning that a former walk-on quarterback at the University of Southern North Dakota noticed that Raiola taps his foot to the rhythm of "Shout" every time a pass play is called.
Sunday at 05:48 PM1 day Moderator No. So far this season DM has not played like an elite QB. I have had the sense that DM is in the “don’t mess this up mode”, versus the try to stop this passing play mode.Personally, I think it is a combination of an OC issue, and DM issue that needs to be fixed immediately.

He throws a very catchable ball, with a quick release, and his accuracy is impressive. Before we get too excited … let’s not forget he was going against Portland State in a game the Ducks won 84-0.DM is our QB, but it’s comforting to know that we have a very capable backup.

Sunday at 07:28 PM1 day No. I felt a Farve/Nix vibe when DR was out there. Just a tough kid out there playing ball. With DM I get a vibe of fragility. DM comes across as psychologically fragile. I don't know how you fix that as a coach.I could be wrong, just the vibes I get

Sunday at 09:41 PM1 day No. It would be very interesting to see how well Dylan would perform for us under the pressure of a big game, a big atmosphere, and against much better competition. However, I’m in the same boat as everyone else who thinks Donte has rightfully earned his spot and deserves to be QB1... for now.
Yesterday at 02:39 AM1 day No. DR has played in big games, he damn near led an upset of Ohio State his freshman year in Columbus. Had he not gotten hurt vs SC last year, Nebraska would have won and he may have stayed. His uncle was Nebraska’s OL coach, but was fired. Lots led to his leaving and coming to Eugene. DR is a gamer and Donte is a skittish QB. Donte has to fix it or he can kiss his NFL career good bye. He reminds me of Josh Rosen minus the attitude. Donte is QB one and deservedly so.
14 hours ago14 hr No. During the past two seasons as games begin I find myself wondering which DM will play? Will it be the precise passer who uses the entire field of play with confidence? Or is it the DM who looks uncomfortable and cannot locate open receivers, then misses some of the who are open or throws too late?It seems obvious which performance the game holds after two offensive possessions, and it holds generally true for the game. Moore either has it or he does not. If not, the issue is mental not athleticism or skill. He can run, but is not an aggressive threat when a play breaks down.I am relatively sure that Mehringer does not want to erode Moore’s confidence by substituting early for him, but if the Ducks are to advance to their potential he needs to do it.The Ducks have a deep QB room. We need to play the one who can carry and lead the team with excellence-even if it is one game at a time.I am convinced after two seasons that automatically playing Moore every game and every series will result in several losses this season. The coaches need to identify and play the “hot hand”. Or, they need to early see that Dante Moore is “off” his best play, and adjust accordingly. As a once-upon-a-time QB myself, I do not say this lightly with disregard to leadership, continuity, or the need for bolstering QB confidence. When he’s good he is very very good. When he’s not, he can lose the game and it shows early in the first series’.
9 hours ago9 hr No. Dante has a great arm. Great, but that's about it.Maybe he should take up the javelin and join the track team. Not that he could handle that under pressure either.Lanning's a great recruiter.Great, but that's about it.Hopefully they're both good at counting $$$. Because collecting cash seems to be their real talent.

Maiava has the same issues......with some awful decisions at times.Dylan was also a 5 star and has gone thru some crap.....but has shown an ability to carry a team at times.....Donte rides with the wind and when the wind blows against you.....he is no sail. Do I expect Lanning to just switch....no....but if the half time stats and results are obviously bad QB play.....give Dylan the ball and see what happens. A loss in LA is going to be really bad for Oregon. A win could be the start of the climb. With a somewhat shaky OL Oregon may need a QB that can create instead of just administer.

He had great touch on his throws and has the presence of mind to throw the balls to the best place for his receivers to have a chance of coming down with it (see his TD to Brady Bidwell). He seems to thrive more in the big moment.Dante Moore had flashes of this last season (Penn State, Iowa) but we have yet to see him pull himself together like that on a week to week basis. Someone said he looks emotionally fragile and I tend to agree. He looks like he needs to be kept in a positive state of mind in order to perform well. He has earned his starting spot but I don't see a reason why DR shouldn't be given a look if DM seems like he's struggling.

I don't know how big he is, but he reminded me a bit of Clydesdale, I mean Cardale Jones!

1 hour ago1 hr No. We also need to consider that when Raiola was on the field he had s3cond and third stringers on the offensive line. Moore was sacked twice with the starters, Raiola was not sacked at all. Raiola was scanning the field as he was dropping back, Ala Marcus Mariota. Moore would fixate on his primary receiver.

What other head coach in Oregon history has come close to this accomplishment?Kirby Smart is 0-2 in the 12-team playoff. Dan is 2-2.If Dan were in it only for a paycheck, he'd be coaching at Alabama or somewhere else in the SEC and making $2 million or more a year. If in it only for the money, Dante would be collecting a 1st-round draft pick paycheck in the NFL.Bo Nix didn't win the biggest games. Gabe didn't win the biggest games. Marcus Mariota didn't win the biggest game.Dante Moore has won a lot of football games at Oregon. Raiola entered a 7-on-7 contest, or more like 11-on-Zip, and with what passed for an opponent on life support, he played well. Big whoop. In Week 1, Dante came through in the 4th quarter to win a game against a G6 opponent Oregon could have lost. He never lost his poise. Dante was terrible versus Oklahoma State. What Oregon coach and player was not terrible in this game?Of course, you are entitled to your opinion. But may I humbly ask, what coach would prefer to Dan Lanning?
